I don't care if you want a V6 or a V8, I'd even be in favor or an inline-4 if it meant more sales, and a better EPA score. But for some people, they think of it like this:

No one wants a Ferrari with a prius motor, buying a Ferrari isn't just about style, its about power. For those who opt for a V6, the Camaro is about style (even though it has a decent amount of HP), but many people who love Camaro's its about style and power.

There is one exception to this rule, Mustangs. They lack both syle and power ; )
