Looks like it. Here is an email I got from them after I asked if they had any news about the installation:

I spoke with our service department and apparently we received some new software for our M.D.I. tool so we should be able to accommodate you.

Love what you've got hanging from your mirror! Glad you were able to get it working after so much difficulty. Another bonus is you've got the latest software, so it should hopefully work well for you.

So, this confirms that putting the PDIM in a non-CC equipped vehicle is just a simple install and reprogram at the dealership?

This is promising news for my sister's new Equinox

now the question is how to get the bluetooth to work with onstar so we can pair our phones as well.

Correct.

FYI just in case someone new is reading this:
It does not add steering wheel controls or Bluetooth support for hands free talking (only Bluetooth for streaming music)

I'm sure it helped that we were both trying to get it updated at Hibbard. I think it made them update their MDI software finally.

Thanks for your help

I also grabbed a picture of the PDIM accessory vs. a PDIM pulled from a 2SS. I plan to install it either tonight or tomorrow.

sherifdude, the install for the PDIM is quite simple, only takes about 30 minutes total to take the center console apart, put the module in, and put the center console back. You do not need to remove the radio. the wiring harness that goes to the radio is already in place, near the e-brake. However, you will need to have the radio software updated so that it will recognize the PDIM.

EDIT: Page 2, post 37 has the installation instructions.
