I agree that 0-60 the Daytona Charger EV w/670 hp is comparable to a ZL1 because it has AWD.

General Motors Co. Chair and CEO Mary Barra has been named Fortune's most powerful woman in business, the media company announced Wednesday.

The 27th edition of the Fortune Most Powerful Women in business list recognizes 100 global leaders. The list includes 65 female CEOs and the ranking is based on company size and health, their career path, influence beyond their organization and how they wield power, Fortune said.

Fortune described Barra as a "trailblazer in the auto industry" and noted that among the 55 women currently leading Fortune 500 companies, Barra is one of only nine who have been CEO for a decade or more.

Below are the top 10 "Most Powerful Women":

Barra
Karen Lynch, president and CEO of CVS Health
Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup
Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture
Emma Walmsley, CEO of GlaxoSmithKline
Ruth Porat, president, CIO and CFO of Alphabet and Google
Safra Catz, CEO of Oracle
Lisa Su, chair and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices
Kathryn McLay, president and CEO of Walmart International
Grace Wang, co-founder and chairwoman of Luxshare Precision
She’s a f’n DEI lib. She was kissing up to to the senile dementia patient in charge for 4 years and turned GM into “gm”. Hell Toyota is now more for straight, normal car guys than GM and I never thought that day would EVER come.

But hey Forbes named her a top female exec.

With the way you defend her, how much is she paying you? When’s the next fat envelope coming? Or do you meet her in the parking garage at the RenCen every 3rd Tuesday? Back corner, basement, where the lighting is dim.

GM isnt smart enough to do that. They're still on the DIE and green wagon.

My GM buying days are over until they do 2 things:
Bring back V6's
Bring back sedans

I'll NEVER buy another junk 4 cylinder again and I've no desire to own an EV especially with all the mileage I drive for work.

Exactly. This is what Martinjim doesn’t get.

My next car is Toyota. 20 years ago you’d have had to put a gun to my head to get me to say that. Even then I still might not have.

But hey Martinjim thinks Mary’s the best thing since sliced bread….. but Forbes naming her a heat CEO doesn’t make me want anything they sell.

I agree with this. That new Charger Scat Pack EV weighs 6000 pounds which is more than a lot if not all 1500 series trucks. A weight loss would be a big improvement. Also in race 2 of this video it seems to struggle braking indicating maybe a weight distribution issue or ABS issues. https://youtu.be/F1WHmK8vJ5Q?t=425

6-cylinders are still available from GM. Mostly inline 6 but a few V6 are still around. GM sedans are coming back. Just they'll be electric. Hopefully better than Dodge's electric sedan. But Tesla and Lucid make it clear that there is a market for EV sedans.

Not really. I just know it's an easy way to get you wound up when this thread slows down. Not joking.

Sorry but we've been through all this before. I own an Impala with a V6 and would have kept buying them till I died. I transport firearms on a regular basis and a sedan with a a trunk is ideal. Its my kids car now. I replaced the Impala with an Equinox for work with a 1.5L. I hate it. Its an anemic terd. We replaced my wifes V6 Lacrosse with a 2023 V6 Acadia which is no longer available. My next car will have to be a V6

Today, the only V6's they offer is a cadillac which I dont want and Blazer and have heard this is the last year for the V6 Blazer. GM has no offering I'm interested in as my wife and I have settled for an Equinox and Acadia which we didnt really want ITFP but bought out of family and brand warranty.

Our family owns a GM dealership and I've been invested in supporting them but cannot any longer. Next month, my ZLE is paid off and I will be shopping for a V6 sedan. My mother in law will be #PISSED! Too bad

If I wanted an EV, I'd buy a Tesla Plaid.

So basically...GM DOES make V6 sedans, just ones that you don't like. Good summary?

Name one 5 passenger, 250-300 hp gasoline V6 sedan without hybrid or turbos and a regular 6-8 speed transmission for $30,000 MSRP that GM builds right now.

Sure.
I dont want a Cadillac period. I've never owned a Cadi because I've never liked them. What I DO/DID like, is the Impala, Grand Prix, Lacrosse, Park Avenue, and a few others. It appears Cadillac's V6 gets the axe after this year so thats moot anyway. Is that a good summary?

My wife doesnt want a Blazer for her next car which is ALSO being discontinued. We BOTH want the options we've had for decades now.

GM continues to chop vehicles we want and after nearly 2 decades of eliminating the products we want, we will no longer buy GM. I'll bet there are people who are done with GM once the V6 Cadi and Blazer are retired. Meanwhile, I continue to see V6 options from foreign brands and sedans ARE wanted since I see the same foreign brands offering them.

I can appreciate brand loyalty as much as the next guy. I've never owned a non-GM product save for the car I bought my kid for college 18 years ago. GM is making abysmal marketing choices and if the past is any predictor of the future, they will continue to do so until Ford and Mopar have a 2 year head start on them.

Definitely a good summary. Actually, the HFV6 was supposed to be gone by now, but CT4 / CT5 got extended as GM slowed down their EV transition plan. Lansing Grand River (where CT4/CT5 are built and Camaro used to be built) was supposed to be building Corvette EV SUVs by now. XT5 and CT4 / CT5 are all that are left with HFV6 now.

Korean and Japanese brands will continue to produce sedans with 4 & 6 cylinder engines. That's largely because they don't have to portfolio-balance them with V8 pickups and SUVs. GM Ford, and Stellantis have to balance the fleet average fuel economy across the board and that includes selling about a million trucks and SUVs each with V8 engines. Actually, less for Ford since their top end trucks and Utes use the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost. But they do still have a lot of V8. So they have to balance it with a lot of 4-cylinder applications. That's a huge over-simplification, but basically, it's kind of the state of where things are.

Ironically, I'm probably far from being the most brand loyal guy on the planet. I worked for GM from 1978 - 2017. In that time I've owned (4) Mustangs and bought my younger brother a VW Rabbit as his first car. Now that I'm retired from GM I have (2) Chevrolets, a Tesla, and a Toyota. There's probably a reason I spent a lot of my latter years at GM leading part of the Competitor Intelligence team.

Right after you do the same for Ford and Stellantis. Funny thing is, I actually CAN do that but I bet you can't.
