I would try bringing the belt behind the backseat and buckle it, this should work and you won't be sitting on the closed belt. Seems to me it would be easier to buckle up and use a sheepskin type proctector on the belt, this would prevent irritation on your neck. I agree that the belt is literally a "pain in the neck", the edge of the belt also rubs the side of my neck, but I do buckle up and deal with it. I'm certainly not going to give you the lecture. Even with your "new tactics", threads like this only end up going downhill and just getting everyone stirred up. I appreciate your tenacity.

If you cut the belt, I doubt your car would pass state inspection.

no seatbelt affects no one else on the road, does help out the user in safety- tests have shown that. though its a personal choice like smoking cigarettes- they know it causes cancer, i personally hate the habit and its expensive. i think the fella has a question, please do not flame him for wanting to know how to disconnect a simple chime, personal preference

And another thing I would hope the mods would seriously discourage discussions on how to void safety features on our beloved Camaros...jmho |

then you sit in front of the local 7-11 and tell every person in there that buys cigs they are "hurting their family" and shouldn't be smoking...
like I said, get off your damn high horse and stop posting if you can't help the OP out. Quote:

One day when you're grown up you'll understand. I'll leave it at that, you can't have a sensible conversation with someone who doesn't have any sense to begin with. |

Oh for the love of --
Everyone stop getting your panties in a twist, and chill out.... ![]() The OP wants to know how to disable the chime....tell him if you know, get out if you don't. Chime or no, it's painfully obvious he has no intention of wearing the belt...so lecturing is not going to help. To those who refuse to wear seatbelts, etc in here...don't be surprised at the opposition you're getting. And frankly, don't get upset. You are going against the grain, be it right or wrong the fact is you are in the minority. Opposition, staunch opposition at that, should be expected -- and you should be able to deal with it because it comes with the territory of being a rebel. To those who do wear seatbelts, etc in here. The first thing you need to realize is that you can lecture and prove a point over and over...but some people will NOT listen. This is when you quit. It's called a lost cause, and is no longer worth your time or patience. Berating a stubborn person will do nothing but add to his/her and your own aggravation. |

i see the carnage all the time, people made decisions and now have to live with them, as do I. its not pretty, seat belts could of saved a lot of lives, removing a chime does not necessarily mean you wont wear your seatbelt either.

You and I both know that removing that annoying little chime takes away the only thing that will force a second thought, but Dragoneye is right niether viewpoint will convince the other to reconsider. I'm guilty of letting my beliefs lose site of this fact.
