i must say that the camaro is gonna be the fastest, and probaly the best looking, the v6 camaro will be as fast as the mustang gt and the challenger, lol, so imagine the v8 camaro ss...then couple years later, NOW IMAGINE THE V8 CAMARO Z28!!!!!480-520HP!!!

Well you see, the V6 won't be as fast as a Mustang GT, lack of torque and an extra couple hundred pounds will do that. It will be a close race with the R/T Challenger though.

I may be missing out on something here, but isn't this the way it has always been. The progression of performance upgrades is the way the muscle car "wars" have always been. Did everyone here miss the 60's and 70's?
First Ford brings out the Mustang. Then Chevy ups the stakes with the Camaro. Mopar is doing their thing. The other GM brands are doing their thing. One year it's 275 hp. The next year it's 325. Then the competitor jumps up with more cubes and a new body style. Then the cycle starts al over again with big blocks. That was the coolest thing about the hp wars. Ford did not start out with the "Cammer" motors. Mopar didn't start out with the big block Hemi. Chevy didn't start out with the LS6. It was a progression over the years. Why would it be any different now? If Chevy does a 500 hp Z28 right from the start, what are they going to do next? How far do you honestly think the modern horsepower wars are going to go? C'mon, we are not going to end up with 1000 hp muscle cars. Things have to start at a reasonable point. 422 hp backed by a 6M or 6A and a new IRS is going to be an awesome car. Better than anything we've ever had from the factory. I gotta say, I'm pretty freaking excited about that and honestly don't care about the next step right now.

A bigger sway bar may be better but too big may cause the body to be too tight and 3 wheel a corner, lifting a wheel off the ground and thus keeping the cars inside tires from being planted thus reducing stability. That's an extreme case, but tuning sway bars takes a bit more thought than what you claim.

Why are people comparing the SS V.S. the GT500
Shouldn't it be V8 Mustang V.S. V8 Camro and Mustang GT V.S. SS Camaro ? seeing as that's the equivalent. |

the gt insnt even a match for the camaro. its closer to race the gt500 than it is the gt. i remember a article i read about the gt500 against an 06 z51 vette. just a regular vette against a supercharged mustang. the vette destroyed the gt500 in every aspect of the race. 0-60, slolum,braking, 60ft time,1/4 mile and 0-100mph. it was a hell of alot better. the camaro will be a very close competator to the gt500 IMO. alot better of a race than a gt vs. ss

I think what a lot of people are having trouble with is that the Camaro is the first one of the three to really step forward as far as performance in this new "muscle" car wars. So it's on a totally different scale than the other two.
Trim for Trim, it absolutely DESTROYS the competition: V6 v. V6 SS v. GT / SS v. RT So there's more than a few people who are comparing the cars based on performance, and not their place in the lineup. Apparently to make things a little more 'fair'. V6 v. GT / V6 v. RT SS v. GT500 / SS v. SRT8 Honestly, there's not much to talk about if we don't do this.
