Can an RS/SS Tire/Wheel Fit Inside the Trunk?

Just wondering. I'll be coming back from Japan in May and am planning a roadtrip all over the US. Would be handy to have a spare.

I still haven't decided on what I'll buy, but this will help figure it out

Thanks in advance

That's a good question... I've had one in my trunk, but didn't try to fit it in the storage space where you would put the spare. I don't think it will though... those things are huge!

Oh, I wasn't wondering if it would fit in the space for the spare... just wanted to know if it would fit in the trunk at all.

Thanks for the info!!!!

The front will, not sure about the rear.

It will but it will take up most of the space and leave very little room for your stuff. The major question here actually is if it will fit though the trunk opening, you may end up going though the backseat.

Not sure if this helps or not, but the folks at Belle tire put my summer 20" Pzero tires in my car when I got the winter tires installed. Only one of them fit in the trunk. When I took the tires out of the car, the one in the trunk didn't seem to have problems.

You are not going to get much else in the trunk with one wheel in there though.

As others have stated....I was able to fit my front wheel/tire in the trunk which leaves very little room for anything else.I have not tried to squeeze the rear tire in though??

First of all are you getting a 2LT or a SS..If 2LT there is already a spare in it (18in) and the SS has an inflating kit if I`m not mistaken.

I would say you have enough room. Cargo capacity: all seats in place (cu ft): 11.3

You can fit one in the trunk. I've done it.

Don't forget you'll need a jack, wrench, and 22mm socket.

When I swapped to my winter wheels, I had one rear wheel in my trunk, and the other three wheels in my back seat for the ride home. You can't fit much else in the trunk, but it will fit through the regular trunk opening. No need to fold down the back seat.
