Question Interior Vent trim removal

Hi all,

I did a search, and all I could find were vent trim "overlays" for sale, which I do not want. Does anyone know how to remove all the silver trim for the vents on the dash? I am going to paint them all, and so far, have only done the Speed/Tach bezel. I've read how to remove the steering wheels trim and will have to get the guts up to remove the airbag first

Thanks!
Michael J.

My bezel trim:

There are threads on here on how to do that. It's Very easy! I have a trim removal tool set I bought - all plastic. Makes things much easier.

Look for the DIY Dash ABL and there are detailed instructions there...

EDIT: found it! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40804

start by pulling on the top right. dont pull to hard. you will hear it pop out of each corner. keep doing it till its off. the clips are on the top left and right and bottom left and right.

For the inferno orange, what color primer would be best? White?

good luck on removing the center vents, I will try and post some pics up on my removal of them. I got it out but you have to pull the whole dash out about 3 inches or do some minor cutting of the lower vent to get it out.

I tried to take the vents out - not the defroster vent SSTony has painter. I couldn't get them out without feeling like I was going to snap them. Couldn't even figure how to get the side circular vents out ;( i gave up...

the center 2 vents above the radio come out in 3 pieces, there is 6 screws holding them on
you can get to 5 of the 6 bolts with out removing the dash but the last one you either have to take the dash out or cut out the back of the clip that hold that last bolt in.
