I qualify for USAA and looked at rates. They could not beat my current auto and home owners insurance rates through Geico. It would cost me more annually in rates vs. getting the $750 discount. :(

you should be able to stack rebates or incentives as i did i took me about 4 hours but got my 1ss for dealer invoice about 1800 below sticker plus 750.00 usaa discount and free tint. just be patient it takes time to haggle but at the end its well worth it. even if you get a hheadache doing so. I saved almost 3 grand below sticker and my buddy paid 2300 over sticker a week earlier and he thought he got a great deal. patients thats all im saying.

You don't have to use their insurance/loans to get the discount. I signed up for their free checking/savings account. Just needed $50 minimum to open ($25 for each account). I just got my USAA member card in the mail yesterday and you still have the $50 in the account.

Edit: Disregard, bad info. Thought USAA was offering civilians accounts.

I purchased mine January 30th and got the USAA with just a print screen. Can they really try and bill you for it later if it was there mistake? That would suck if that is true.

Spazz, are you a military member of USAA or a civilian member? Also, how long did you take you from opening your account to receiving your membership card?

Anna and CamaroScotty are correct. Dealers do get audited and GM charges them for incentives they shouldn't have given. If it's a simple mistake, it ends there. If GM can prove anyone did this with full knowledge to scam the system, it's fraud and the consequences can include criminal prosecution of the individuals involved and possible loss of the dealer's franchise if he/she was involved. I've seen people hauled out of dealerships in handcuffs for incentive and warranty fraud. Whether the dealer can recover from the customer depends on state laws and is often dependent on the language in the sales contract the customer signed. I've seen it go both ways.

GM doesn't do this to be mean. We're just protecting our assets and honest dealers, like Anna and CamaroScotty. We don't want dishonest dealers to gain a price advantage over the honest ones by scamming the system. We also want to protect the incentive for those it was intended for. In this case, members of the military, veterans and their immediate families. Eventually, this USAA incentive will go away if we can't control the abuse, ruining it for those that truly deserve it. Trust me...this incentive is being watched closely and is an audit trigger. If any dealer steps out of the norm on redemptions, they are asking for a visit and it's their fault if their documentation isn't in order.

If both of you purchased after January 15th and the dealer qualified you on a screen print only, if they can't subsequently produce your USAA membership card to document your eligibility, they are headed for a $750 chargeback on the incentive.

I've been a member of USAA for more years then I can remember and I'm a LTC in the Oklahoma Army National Guard with 9 years of Active Dury Service and 29 years service, overall. When I went to the USAA Discount Site, all I found was a information that there were NO discounts available for my area (Tulsa). Am I missing something???
