thanks...I will make a video in the next few weeks - the TT acceleration needs to be experienced and, once driven, it becomes clear why TT are considered by many as the ultimate in F/I.
For my driving habits, this system spools about perfect. Anyone that is local is welcome to stop by and, if time permits, I will be happy to give a demo ride. [QUOTE=Z_Rocks;1659412] Quote:

All the factory turbo installations have the same exposure - it's really a non-issue. |

I always wondered how well the turbo setup deals with being under the car? I am a diesel tech and were always told they need a clean cool environment to last. Is this old school thinking?

You get more air ventilation under the car than if it was in engine bay. If you look at the above pictures, on the driver side, you can see there is plenty of open space around the hot side, and as the car moves, you get lots of air passing from under neath. Plus, you got all the weight close to the ground and in the center of the car rather than in the front and on the top of the engine.

in other words, they aren't in an area where they can be sprayed by rain and so on. I wouldn't want my turbos getting sprayed by water considering how hot they run... but, if it works for you then more power to ya.

This is a question that I like to raise to a turbo manufacture, what happens if you pour water when the turbo is hot. |

Seems like it would take an awful lot of exposure to some really cold water to create enough temperature gradient to surpass the iron's thermal capabilities. TTI has a bunch of bottom mount systems on the market without issue, I've never seen a cracked housing from some water splashing on it.
Water vaporizes at 212F which makes it very difficult to quickly drop the temp of the housing. Quote:

The location of the TT is the perfect location in my opinion not to mention very stealth.
