Now that im thinking about it, for around 70k you can get a GT-R, and that is getting into super car territory.

if i had the cash, i would wait a few more months and get the capital really low, and refinance to get a lower payment and get the car you want. That way you can keep both.

Good luck with you're decision.
I think the GT-R is being marked up pretty well. I've heard of people buying them at 90K.

The M3 is a spectacular car. A true sports car right there. I would definitely try to get one if I could. It sounds like you REALLY like M3. I think you should get it.

If you were sitting in a 2010 M3, and a 2010 Camaro pulled up, would you start drooling? If yes, find a way to keep both. If no, time to make the trade.

Well you could always join the military, and get sent overseas. BMW has an EXCELLENT USA military overseas plan. I went to the dealership that they have over here and had them build/quote me an M3 and mine was fully loaded, with everything except the super upgraded leather because I wouldn't want that that bad. It only would've cost me $60,000 even. I was sold on it, until I saw the numbers between the M3 and the Camaro and I wondered to myself why would I pay so much more money for an M3 when I could get a Camaro for much cheaper and is a smidge faster. So I'm getting a Camaro needless to say lol.

An M3 was one of my choices if the Camaro never came out

The M3 is a great car, but if you had a Camaro SS with long tube headers you could have revved back at him and he would have been like

To the OP:

I had almost the exact same "problem" - M3, Corvette GS/Z06 or Cayman. Was not thinking about getting a Camaro until...

... one day I was showing a friend the Corvette I'd test driven the week before (at Community Chevrolet in Burbank - nice people, btw) but he wasn't interested and wanted to look at the Camaros. We took a "base" 2SS M6 (not the BMW kind) for a test drive and I was impressed with car's performance. We then took "my" Camaro (2SS RS M6 fully "dressed" inside and out) for a drive. With the special orange interior trim the inside is transformed. The exterior detailing (installed by the dealer) and the 21" wheels really made "my" car something special. I was sold. Saved $25,000 - $30,000 versus those other cars.

I certainly would like bragging rights, but in reality tenths of a second in 1/4 miles don't matter - I don't street or track race (or rev, either).

I wanted a distrinctive looking car, too. Here in Los Angeles BMWs are so common they don't get a second glance, plus most people couldn't tell a 328i from a 335i from a M3. Caymans are also pretty popular (at least on the West Side) and there are quite a few Corvettes around. But there aren't many Camaros, and I've yet to see another IOM, other than at the dealer.

I could go on and on about each of the cars and their pros and cons, but I'll just end by saying I'm SOOOOOOO glad I found my Camaro sitting on the dealer lot that day. I love it!

I'd still love to have an M3 and a Corvette Grand Sport Convertible and a Cayman... but since (right now) I can only have one, I made the right decision getting the Camaro.

The new M3's just don't have the same impact on me as the E46 M3's did. I think the E46's are just sexy, I don't get that feeling from the new M3's.

And anyway, If I was going to spend 65,000 on a car.............I'd buy a real sports car..........Corvette Z06.

Yeah, but the OP said he was hunting for a second car.

A ZO6 is a "2nd car" kind of car. Throw the wife and kids in the Camaro!

Never been a fan of the styling of the M3's, then again I've never driven one. To each his own. Go with what you like better and can afford.

I just cannot make up my mind as to which vehicle I would want.

You seem to be smarter than I am at this, at least you only have 1 car payment for now. My advice would be to get the Camaro paid off and then revisit this issue.
Gotta agree with ya...
I have a few more payments before my Jeep is paid off (this summer) but two car notes are brutal...........
