You drive a CTS. How can you possibly say from experience that any feature of your American luxury machine is not comparable to Japanese or German luxury machines? We need to get past the era of underrating American cars just because they are American. The Viper ACR and Corvette ZR1 are the top 2 cars on the Nordschleife. You can't tell me that American cars aren't on par with Europeans on performance. Add to that the fact that American cars have top-notch leather and the same options, and you've got Americans competing with Europeans in every category.

I don't want to come off as too defensive, but nothing gets me more frustrated than a stereotype. The stereotype that American cars are inferior to European cars is not tolerable from my perspective.

I guarantee you that the Camaro will have the same features as many more cars that are above it's level of competition. Expect the best from Chevy.

I am not stereotyping cars I am just going by my experiences with those different vehicles. European and Japanese cars always seem to be ahead of the learning curve when it comes to features in vehicles. As far as the vette goes you are 100% correct I have never been more impressed with the overall interior and exterior design as well as the overall bang for the buck. My camaro will definately impress me, that I am sure of. And by the way for a 38k car my CTS doesn't really have any features in comparison to the foreign competition. It is the 3.6 performance package and currently on swapalease.com I am positive I will be every bit impressed with the camaro as I was with the c6 corvette.

There are a few details Japan and Europe still beat America on, and window/moonroof remote control is one of them.

Another is keyless ignition (push button start)

Navigation systems

Bluetooth integration

These are things American car companies still need to work on. Esp. the window remote control - it comes even on a $18k Accord 4 cylinder!

My $16k VW Rabbit does it too after a minor modification using a laptop and an OBDII-like cable (the cable can be had for $250 or you can find someone willing to do it for free, there's a website with a directory or your dealer could do it).

The VW system can. Hold Unlock for a few seconds and they start rolling down, hold Lock for a few seconds and they start rolling up.

No they will not roll down by the keyfob. I'm sure aftermarket will come up with something. Not many come with that feature........Hell a 400k Rolls won't do it....

I know this is off a little bit, but I don't think you can use "top notch" leather and American cars just yet. I think American cars are getting A LOT better (Malibu, CTS), but my dad has an '07 Corvette and the leather in my '01 VW passat is better. If the leather in American cars was equal to the GTO or G8, then I would be more than satisfied and, would happily say the words "top notch".

There's loads of aftermarket window roller downers. The hard part is integrating it gracefully, so it works with the factory remote and uses the car's computerized systems instead of just being hooked directly to the window motor.

well japan and europe need to have all those features because there cars are boring to look at and drive so they need extra features to keep people buying

how do u know it won't?

and i don't want to argue, but i must disagree with you that 'not many come with that feature' its the fact that there is no button for it, a LOT of people don't realize they have it.

i didn't know mine could when i got it, and several of my friend's cars (BMWs, nissans, VWs, chevy too) not all of them realized it either, but they DO have the feature- its not that hard to add the logic to the cars reciever that unlock+3sec = roll windows down.
