I'm happy to hear that.

What I meant about the cloth seats not cooling down was more about the interior car's temperature generally feeling hotter than a car with leather seats on a hot day. Seems to me that the cloth seats absorb heat more than leather seats and retain the heat for some reason.

I had a car with black leather interior before I purchased my 1SS. So that's what I'm basing my comparison on.

I personally liked the orange-colored interior that is only available in leather. I think the other colors are too plain and not fitting for a car of this caliber. As most of us are really up on the care of these cars, I don't think maintaining the leather is much more of a chore.

Looks like I'm in the minority here. I purchased the 2SS/RS and love my leather seats. Got my car in December, its my daily driver, still look and smell brand new. Even took her to Valdosta's C5 Fest (which was awesome).

I love my leather seat and cluster guages. Wish I had money for mods though. But this car, no matter which model you get is just awesome. I'm still in awe that I actually have one parked in my garage.

Good luck with your decision - it's your car, only you has to be happy with it. Lori

I could see that. Cloth might hold the heat longer. I have been happy with how quickly the AC gets the car cooled down. Plus my tint saves the day !

I wanted the ipod usb connector for my car. I am a music lover and a bit of a computer geek, so that was important to me. I didn't realize it when I bought it, but I love the bluetooth for my mobile phone. It is very convenient to be able to answer your cell phone by pressing a button on the steering wheel. I rarely talk on the phone in the car (I never initiate a call, but on occasion, it does ring). Now I don't have to fumble around for my phone. I just push the button on the steering wheel and start talking.

I also like the leather and 4 pack gauges. So, I went with the 2SS. If those things aren't important to you, then go with the 1SS. They are the same mechanically and on the exterior. Good luck!

I agree that leather looks great and I take great care of my car but I just had long term concerns. I really wish I had the CandC package though:bangdesk:

I was just at the dealership 10 minutes ago and was told I couldn't order 2010's anymore. Gotta choose from the ones out there now.

Hey, the 1SS with a black cloth interior looks great. I ordered ours with all black cloth. You will be happy. The cloth on the door panels looks great and matches the cloth strip in the dash. We always liked cars with black interiors. We got our 1SS Camaros and installed the 4 pack afterwards. The steering wheel looks cleaner without all the buttons.

I almost bought a 2002 Camaro for my wife and the previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo. This is a nightmare if you go with an aftermarket stereo.

Whoever complained about the hurst needed to be driving an automatic. Both will give noise & vibration feedback unless you install the "wimp" kit that comes with the shifter.

That's a big deal to me. I weigh 165 lbs, so I'm not big enough to cause the cloth seats to rock around as I drive. They just do it because of their design. I've asked the service department at the dealer what was up and they said it was normal.

Also, if you're going to add power mods, it's nice to be able to keep an eye on oil temp. So the 2SS's extra guage cluster is a good thing.

But, if you want to save a few grand and use that money for mods, and you don't mind cloth seats that rock side-to-side when you turn, then get the 1SS. It's still a very nice car and very fun to drive.

I'm 200lbs and never had side to side movement in my cloth seats.
It seems like you are alone in this.

and I've had plenty of leather cars. you are right in that the seats cool down faster with leather. But no way is it hotter in a car with cloth seats. Leather heats up really quick and it gets really hot.

Yeah, tint probably is a good idea. I'll probably get one soon. And I agree the AC works great.
