That's a big deal to me. I weigh 165 lbs, so I'm not big enough to cause the cloth seats to rock around as I drive. They just do it because of their design. I've asked the service department at the dealer what was up and they said it was normal.

Also, if you're going to add power mods, it's nice to be able to keep an eye on oil temp. So the 2SS's extra guage cluster is a good thing.

But, if you want to save a few grand and use that money for mods, and you don't mind cloth seats that rock side-to-side when you turn, then get the 1SS. It's still a very nice car and very fun to drive.
I'm with the others; I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. My seats are some of the most comfortable I have ever sat in and there is no side to side movement at all. I've read many of your posts, so I believe you when you say that happens. Maybe you need to go back to your dealer and try to get it fixed (it's not normal).

To the OP, I don't think I miss anything, but it is not my daily driver. All I really cared about inside was whether I could play my ipod, which I can. I actually prefer the cloth panels on the doors over the plastic ones on the 2SS.

I, on the other hand, do have personal knowledge. And I'm not sure what I would have to gain by making up such a claim.
I agree with papabear and everyone else. My 1SS cloth seats are rock solid and extremely durable, with zero side to side. I'm guessing you got some lemon seats or something, everyone else with the 1SS appears to be extremely happy with the seats

wimp kit? Please expound...

Just ordered my 1SS RS M6 and Sunroof. Last allocation from the dealership for the 2010's

The waiting beings...

On the leather note...Adding limo tint helps ALOT and durability has never been a problem with GM's leather if you know how to maintain it. I will probably add aftermarket leather to solve that problem.

now the waiting beings....

Okay guys, you win. What do you want me to say? I'm the odd man out here.

I offered my post in this thread to give my perspective. I'm not sure how the point became proving someone wrong on their objective experience, but that's what happened.

To each of you that have perfect functioning cloth seats, congrats! I'm happy for you.

The one thing that bothers me about this site, and I'll share it with each of you, is when someone posts something that's wrong with their car, either to share the news with the forum or to receive constructive feedback, the majority of the time, you see posts like these, "never happened to me, geez, that seems impossible, I'm completely satisfied."

As many of you may not know, posts like those are very dismissive.

You could just as easily say, "that isn't my experience, I hope it works out for you."

It just seems odd, that the dealer would tell you it's fine.......

I love my heated leather seats, blue tooth, steering wheel controls and gauge package. I was going for the 1SS but it had a sunroof so I opted for the 2SS no regrets.

They have the same right to post there experiences too. They just don't go side to side like u do, they're just letting him know cloth is just as good.

How many posts are there on this site of people claiming something was wrong with their car and they take it to the dealer who looks at it and says it's fine and then the person proves to the dealer that it isn't?

I went to my dealer to ask about the fuse pull, low/high octane table issue. They said, there was no such thing. But I pressed them and they checked it out and found a bulliten. Lo and behold, although they initially said there wasn't an issue, there actually was.

It's all good. The thing is, I'm all about well rounded opinions and reviews. I like reading about issues that people have with their cars -- not because I want them to have issues, as I feel bad when that happens, but I want to be further educated about things that may happen to my car.

I understand that. And I agree, most people do not have this issue. That's a testiment to how good the production of these cars is.

I just wasn't expecting the tone that I read in some of the posts.

I don't know, call me human, but I act like myself on these forums and I really don't try to be rude because that's not how I would talk to someone in real life. Unless they were rude first, and then in that case, I have to hold myself back. haha

Regardless of my experiences with the seats, I still love driving my car. Everyday.

How about the upgrade radio for starters. You need to find your car on the lot or in transit.

I can understand your POV however I will say that I own a Mustang GT with leather interior and in the summer without a window shade it is a much more uncomfortable experience to get in than a car with cloth interior. I believe if you ask more of us who have owned cars with both interiors, you would get the exact same feedback. No one is "out to get you" or dismiss your opinion however when you state that the 2SS seats are better than the 1SS for reasons such as:

"The 2SS's leather seats are built better than the 1SS's seats. They are more comfortable and they don't have the annoying side-to-side rocking tendencies of the lightweight cloth seats."

and

"I live in an area that sees many +100 degree F days. And I can say that cloth interior gets very hot from the sun and does not cool down as fast as leather seats. At least that's my experience with the 1SS. I was surprised by this result, btw."

...expect to get some heat. Those are very opinionated statements, not fact.
