That was admiral blue, and yes, it was good.

ABM is the most amazing color GM ever put out. Better than all the other colors by far. Hope you guys that really wanted it after they pulled it get your chance to have it if they ever bring it back, but if not it doesnt bother me it just makes mine more rare.

Yeah, now this is a shade of green that looks good. Not too dark like Polo Green--that just looked so bland on the 4th gens. What's this shade called??

I still feel we need a blue in a lighter shade than IBM. Doesn't have to be as light as ABM, maybe kind of a cobalt blue metallic or something

I'm curious why, if white is one of the 'hallowed three', it wasn't available earlier? My camaro purchase got postponed back in aug/sept timeframe (layoff fears from my wife), but turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Summit white was finally available by the time I bought mine and I love it!

They where going to swap the white that was currently used on the impala (in the same factory) to the new summit white. It made no sense (in a business way) to paint the Camaro 1 color white, and then swap to the next when the rest of the plant did.

Cliffs:
The Camaro started production before plant model year changes occured.

Don't bring it back....it's a sucky color anyway

I personally love bright blues.........from Mulsanne Blue in the early 70s and LeMans blue and Nassau blue of the 60s -- to the light blue metallic in 1989-90.

I was delighted when we launched bright blue metallic in 1999 -- and guess what? It lasted less than 6 months.

The reality is that while some love the color (me included) it doesn't sell in very large numbers.

Paint will deteriorate as it sits in vats...some worse than others...so when a color drops below 3 percent, we get a 30-60 day warning - if it doesn't go above that rate, it's gone. Simple as that.

Yes - some of us absolutely love Aqua Blue Metallic - I especially love it with Silver Stripes.........but the reality is that even AFTER we announced that the color would go away, the volume never materialized.

A new color costs a lot in terms of development (more than you'd ever guess) .....(and before some bodyshop guys and gals chime in - remember - we have to paint at a line rate -) and so 'drastic' colors are very risky.

Frankly, there was a LOT of heartburn about Synergy Green Metallic -- because it's a high risk color........but apparently it's being received judging by the comments I've overheard at various autoshows around the country.......

Color is a very emotional subject -- and we will never get everyone to agree on a color palette - other than about 90% believe we need to offer Black, Bright Red (....and it had BETTER be bright)....and white. (We used to call them the 'hallowed three') Silver is a close 4th even tho it's one of the most popular colors in the auto industry. After that, percentages fall off a cliff...
Just out of curiosity; how many orders do you have to have before you do a run of a particular color?

I'd hate to see blue go away. I have an IBM which I ordered sight-unseen in May of last year. Mine was the first one I saw in that color when it arrived in August and I haven't regretted it for an instant. I know some people think it's too dark a shade but I LOVE this color. Maybe a slightly brighter version would be more successful?
