Well, supercharger whine does sound cool. However the popping and snorting as you drop off the boost of a turbocharger sounds like you're at Indy. Is it wrong to like them both?
I think I like TC's that are factory installed, but if I was going to install something aftermarket I'd go with an SC. |

Twin screw roots type superchargers own the market in terms of power and efficiency. Until the aftermarket comes out with a new turbo design, superchargers have the upper hand.

I beg to differ. A GT40R could push 600hp through the 3.6L EASY or running twin GT28R's could do it as well.
Guys running really big turbo's on the Audi 1.8L engine's are making 800+hp, many guys are in the 400-600hp range, and just about everyone is in the 300-400 range (including me). Tell me a supercharger could do that. |

Boost is boost.
Funny cars use roots-style blowers that are pumping out 1000s of horsepower.Where Turbos have the upper hand is in the insane power levels, because you can add two huge turbos as opposed to one large supercharger (centrifugals don't count )

And I should add, funny cars use nitromethane. That kinda helps when making power. But the fact remains that they produce ~8000 hp and ~7000 lbft of torque. If I've done my math correctly (I probably haven't), in 1 run down the dragstrip they produce enough power to run your house for about 3 hours.
