I think the idea of having the dealer look at it is the best. Most dealers have a "vinyl and leather guy" who can repair these kinds of things.

I've used scratch products like adams and armorall before on other cars and it's always seemed to work out before. Just smoothing out the roughed up surface is usually all that's needed.

That might work. I remember when I first bought my camry, I took the radio out to do some work, and I scratched the dash up on that by doing that.

The scratches did eventually go away with time. I've used armor all on it a good number of times.

I should mention it was surface scratches, not deeper gouges.
