... So I guess you'd be ultra pissed about buying ~4500lb (Veyron) car.

It seemed you were using one aspect (weight) of a vehicle for justifying it being inferior for performance based on this aspect.

It's obvious that ~$1,700,000 isn't for all out performance.

I seen cars with less that 100k done to it that will outrun a veyron. Veyron is just for the name. If you pay 1.7million for that car you are not a very smart person.

extra weight is usually detrimental but i posted both the Mustangs and Camaros weight and wasnt posting them to compare them to eachother. These are both heavy (as are my cars), but that is the penalty we must pay for driving these cars that we like, kinda like adding the weight of a glass roof or that funny looking sunroof .that is all i was saying, it's not that deep.

We weren't attributing a little extra weight from a glass top of moon roof to the overall performance, we just came to the conclusion that it's a driver's race when comparing stock cars so there's really no point to arguing it unless some thoroughly valid and consistent evidence comes out, o we started looking at the options and other aspects of the car...that's all

I would actually. Blowing that much money on a car is just plain stupid. There are so many things/people in life that could use that much money. If I had enough money to buy a $1.7million car, I think I would be using that money to help people out, not spend it on myself for a car that I will drive maybe once a year.

Just saying. Humble people are always the best people.

I'm partial to the Mustang, and at some point down the road, will likely buy a 2011 5.0. I like the Camaro, and hope it does well (glad it is doing VERY well so far), but for a variety of reasons, I have no current plans to purchase one.

Now that this is out of the way...

Those that live in glass houses should not throw stones.....The 2011 GT is having clutch issues, too. Two of the performance shops that have been testing them have had to replace the original clutches, though they were being SERIOUSLY abused, and thus it should come as no surprise. However, a "normal" owner also had issues, and has even gotten Ford's attention - which is a good thing:

Evil,
You and I have had several disagreements here. I think both sides may have indulged the argument more than we probably should have. That being said, you may take great pleasure, and may goad me some, to hear I will be in a 2011 Mustang GT within 2 weeks.

After analyzing my goals and looking into $$$, I think it is possible to reach it for less in the Mustang.

BTW - I still firmly believe it is possible to run 115MPH trap speed with a 4.30 in a stock LS3 SS given the right atmospheric and track conditions.

To all,
That absolutely takes nothing away from the Camaro. It is a fabulous car and certainly one of the best I have ever owned. I have much respect for the car and the owners. I plan to still participate here and on the local Camaro meets. I have made several great friendships and intend to keep those.

Howdy. Did you post under the same name? 10 years ago I was still running the Forums over there! LOL. Best of luck with your new purchase! I might try to get into one too early next year....though it is going to be a tough decision between that and an LS3 Vette.

Decisions decisions....

Bob
