I tuned my trans and can run threw the paddles or in m....
In the end the paddles are cool but I believe the car will run better at the track without using them...

I am waiting for my Pro-Torque 2800 stall to get here and then I will retune..

THEN I'M OFF TO ATCO

no prob. But I will advise you NOT to consider buying the retrotekspeed F1 paddles as they are not currently designed to work with this transmission.

I only linked them to show you some ideas of what you could do.

my idea is that if you could order a spare set of the actual exterior shift buttons. then copy that design/shape and make a larger/longer "paddle" that would then replace the original button to achieve this goal.

or glue some paddles on there if you wanna go the cheap route

So how big of a difference is there now with the tune when using the paddles? Can you elaborate?

dead Z28 now. I blew the transmission a while back and ended up parting the car out and selling it. She's got a new home now and I'm going down to check out her new build this weekend.

I agree, in a straight line it works... your hands at 3 and 9 o'clock and you can up or down shift all you want. But once you start turning the wheel, the buttons go with, and that makes any shifting difficult when your wheel is moving. I'd even like them better if they were just attached to the steering column, and never moved from 3 and 9 o'clock... at least I'd always know where they were.

And personally, I normally drive with my left hand at 12, and my right hand free to change radio stations (or if this was a manual... to shift with). 3 and 9 o'clock are not comfortable positions... especially for anyone who is used to driving a manual.

Ahh, my fault..I assumed someone was going to be doing some autocross or likewise, where you rarely shift while in the middle of a corner. If we are just talking about casual driving, it's moot anyway.

I had Tap-Shift in our 2004 Grand Prix GTP and loved it, especially as upshift/downshift was on both paddles. That and the GTP's OHV 3.8-liter V6 engine with an Eaton supercharger - 260 HP 280 lb-ft of torque and HUD made it fun ride despite being a sedan.

Though not an engineer we need someone to make a bracket which goes over the button with a lever attached which would have a paddle at the top and a square at the bottom to press in the button when the paddle is pushed toward the speedo. Perhaps a bit Rube Goldberg solution to what GM should've done in the first place but an idea...

URGH... I went to a Honda dealership today... Sat in one of their Hybrids... THEY HAVE PADDLESHIFT.. but it's actually PADDLES LOL... CMON lol. I took pics of their paddles. It seems to be similar to the Camaro setup. It's technically a "button" but with a plastic extension, which makes it a paddle. Uh, I'll post some pics in a bit... Maybe i'll just order some paddles from honda and swap them out =p Lol

hey jagan, I have the same complaint as you. I was actually looking some of the after market audi R8 paddles to see if they could work with our cars. I found these and they look pretty similar for button mounting. http://rst.clubdelst.com/catalog/ima...%203%20TID.jpg

WOWOWOW DUDE, NICE FIND! NOIICEEEE =O You have any idea who sells them? and how much they cost? Yeah, even if the button shape is different, I'd make it work lol. Those paddles look good too. Damn nice find!

-EDIT- I don't even want to post my Honda paddle pics now lol... they don't look even close to these cool ones =D

Okay, nvm mikk2k, I found the website. For anyone else interested, take a look

http://rst.clubdelst.com/catalog/adv...s=Paddle+Shift

Imo, this is some good looking stuff. Around 300 bucks (USD) average. If it works, or if I can get them to work, it is worth the money for me. If anyone has any further thoughts on how I might be able to install these, please share =D

Awesome. Buy them and try to install them! Let us know how it goes.

I would love to do this and also get an electronic button shifter as Lambo's and Ferrari's have.
