Before I was married there was nothing that I or my buddies wouldn't use to get a girl. Clothes, cars, jewelry, flowers, calls, notes, cards, concerts, dinners, parties, dinner, dancing, beaches, movies, conversation, friends and virtually anything else that moved the ball forward were fair game. Everybody has their personal biases, wants, choices, etc. There are likely those that can't see why someone can choose a Hennessey over a GT500. Ever. To each their own.

I've never been a fan of the GT500 (on other forums - including Mustang Forums, I've called it a "bloated pig" and "underperforming for the HP"). However, I'm not sure I'd have a much more favorable opinion of the Hennesey, given that you get essentially the same performance at a cost of several thousand dollars more, and you have to live with the idea that you have a blower on a motor with high compression and stock pistons. IMO, it would be a much better package (if more expensive) if they'd go ahead and upgrade the pistons and rods. Of course you do get the Camaro's IRS if that is your thing, and I can certainly understand that (even if it isn't my "thing"). Looks, exclusivity, etc are all personal preferences, so I won't touch that.

All that said...I'm a bit more friendly towards the 2011 GT500. Both the bump in HP (to 550) and more than 100 lb weight reduction (aluminum block) helped.

Still overweight though....guess all new cars are.

Again....to each their own.

There is all kinds of talk about this (even including having one or the other as an option), but I don't believe anybody really knows for sure. We'll just have to wait and see.

I, for one, will not look forward to the day I can't get a Mustang with an SRA. Sure hope they make an easy way to swap em....

Pete....sorta off topic....any talk of some sort of swap kit to adapt a live axle to the Zeta chassis for the hardcore drag racing nuts?

Because the Hennessey performs similarly and if you decide to up the boost on the gt500, you get a car that blows almost anything on the street away. If you decide to up the boost on the Hennessey, you get a car that blows the rods through the oil pan.

There isn't a single production 4-seater out there that performs better than the gt500 for the dollar, so how is it a rip-off?

I think either Hendrix or G-force is working on a 9 inch swap.

Dude have you even seen the HPE650, it smoked the super snake for peet sake, it handles fantastic. So does the 600 and 550, all beat the GT500

I wouldn't even consider a 5th gen camaro if their wasn't an affordable option to swap in a live axle.
