GM will need to tweak the tranny a little if they want to get a little more aggressive with gearing. Otherwise it might actually slow the SS down.

Gunmetal has a good point. I currently have a car with the same style of motor as the mustang (dual overhead cams, variable valve timing, small displacement, fancy technology, etc as opposed to simple technology big block) and no it isn't a civic its a lexus. Point is that cars with all of that technology cost more to upgrade and upgrades have less of an effect. Ford has squeezed most of the power out of their 5L whereas there is still plenty more power to be found in the 6.2L of the camaro
And in my opinion chevy needs to respond to the mustang not only with its new 5.0L but with its mile long list of performance options. If chevy offers the equlivent of the trak pak with upgraded sways strut tower bars etc then we will have a good fight on our hands. Oah yea and chevy put the camaro on a diet

people, by people i mean companies trying to sell products (like steeda), are gaining as much as 40 hp with intake and tune. companies like American muscle are getting a more reasonable 20. i think thats responding well to mods
