Down the road once I can get the money the motor won't stay stock. But for now, Nitrous IMO would be pretty good for me. I got headers, intake, and exhaust and that's not enough for me so far. |

I ran over 100 bottles through my last car and the most important things are below. Colder Plugs - I installed new plugs all the time. Good Gas - 109 octane race gas mix when on the bottle. Nitrous Tune - Pull Timing DW |

If it is set up correctly it is safe and reliable. If you buy it enjoy smashing some Supercharged/Turbo Camaros...

As some have already stated if its setup well nitrous is a beautiful thing.
It requires some bells and whistles however. My favorite upgrade is a progressive controller. It'll take some of the hit out of the system and get you some longevity and reliability, there are a few "stand alone" nitrous monitoring systems out there that will monitor pressures, control the bottle heater, and manage a progressive shot all in one unit. Prices can range from $500 and up for just that component. The biggest pro of nitrous is: When it off its off ![]() and it only take but a switch or two to arm it. Biggest con: It runs out. Thanks Mike Haddad |

Is it safe - yes - if setup properly and you limit the amount.
If you only want an occasional boost in HP, there is nothing cheaper and works great with stock engines. If you do it I would highly recommend a progressive controller. |

If it's done right, and if you know what you are doing. You should be fine.

WOW ! ! ! ! ! ! I cant believe all the poeple who say its not safe .... and for those who say its not its because they either had a poor install themselves or new someone who did !
nitrous acts the same as a blower or turbo . it tricks the motor into thinking it recieved more air and that is why you can add more fuel ! 1. turbo works the same way as far as adding power , you add more air well of course you have to add more fuel right ? thats where the power comes from more air and fuel = bigger explosion which then transfers to the crank and so on ! moral of the story cant go wrong with a 100 or so shot just as long as you have the right plugs and a correct tune with a window switch ( or a really fast finger ) lol

As many have stated nitrous can be a very safe and reliable power adder. You just have to be smart about it. Use good components, use the supporting mods, use good fuel, and get a good tune. I've run many many bottles of nitrous through my cars in the past with great success. I will also be adding nitrous to this car as well. For those that are saying not to get nitrous because a supercharger is safer, what do you think happens when an engine detonates when it's under boost? It'll die just as fast as a nitrous engine will.
