You will also easily be at 480+whp with a 5.0L with the same aftermarket heads but without the added cost of a cam.

Do you really think the new 5.0L will be stuck at this 430whp power level NA?

I guarantee we will be seeing 500whp NA 5.0L in less in 1 year.

I told people this would be the case before the car hit the streets. Ford has always made Mustang V8s respond very well to mods, and getting an extra 20+ rwhp with just an intake/tune was very common on the 4.6 3V motors. I figured an even better engine would respond at least as well to mods as their last one, if not better.

I'd bet that 5.0 motor will respond well to a set of aftermarket cams and heads as well. I'll bet guys will be getting at least 480rwhp on the 5.0 motor as well with "basic mods", different heads, and mild cams as well.

this car is going to be the king of all mustangs. but in reality I don't think there are gonna be a lot of people buying this car since it'll be way out of anyone's price range. This mustang'll probably only be bought by people who are rich as hell.

With the TiVCT technology the new 5.0L doesn't really need aftermarket cam's in order to see big hp gains because this technology adjusts to all sorts of different profiles in order to make max power and still deliver good drive ability and MPG. I think aftermarket cams will be reserved to the guys that are going for BIG hp numbers.

Speed Channel's 2 Guy's Garage gave some great incite into all the new technology in the new 5.0L. Here's a link for those who may want to learn more about TiVCT

How expensive do you expect this to be? to say rich as hell seems to imply it will cost more than the GT500 which plenty of people buy now.

Was wondering the same thing.

Side note: Let's not get carried away on the new 5.0 motor debate.

Ford's doing all the right things to the Mustang.

The only good looking one is the orange one, the other ones paint jobs are overkill.

I am thinking a tick or two over $40k with the Lacuna one a touch over $45-46k.

Just a gut feeling though. No data to support that.

Very interesting! I like what they've done to it mechanically. Looks on paper to be quite the performance car!

I don't care for the aesthetics at all, though...it seems everything they do to the Mustang in design is on a completely different wavelength from my tastes.
