If I knew what the 2012 model was adding on, I would certainly wait. Even then, if this housing market doesn't pick up and I'm not able to make a move in the near future, waiting until next summer may very well happen.[/QUOTE]

Have you seen the yellow Camaro convertible with new tail lights under the news section on here? If not check it out. I'd say that new back end with those new tail lights will probably end up on the 2012 Camaro. It looks very good. The interior is purely a guess. GM has either completely redone it including a new design or have heavily revised the current interior with higher quality materials. I'm sure GM will be adding their own version of SYNC, I know they are working on one. A real navigation screen will probably become an option with the new interior. I also heard some talk about revised suspension tuning though this may only be for the 2012 SS and SS convertible.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I would pick the Mustang honestly between the two, especially as a daily driver.

If you absolutely require every last bit of acceleration, the Stang runs hi 13's/low 14's versus the Camaro's low/mid 14's.
+1 Stang

They say looks are subjective, but for me it was no contest. The Camaro is one of the few designs that has ever made it from concept to production almost totally unscathed. And it shows!
+1 Camaro

Interior seems about same for both.
TIE

Seeing how you are asking us which we think is best, it's obvious that your willing to go with either. In that case, I suggest you drive both again.

If that doesn't sway you one way or another, then just go with the best deal you can get.

Don't listen to a word anyone says. Go drive both and decide. It's not our money, it's yours. You will like one more than the other as they appeal to different needs. We can't tell you what you want, you have to figure that out for yourself. Good luck with your choice and with the two options, you will not be unhappy with either.

Well, if he listens to that lone opening statement, considering the rest of my post is just an elaboration on that, then yes. That's precisely why I opened with that comment.

LOL. Find me a site on the internet where a Mustang vs Camaro thread has NOT been locked, deleted, and/or several forum members banned.

It just brings out the best in people.

Yeah, gotta go with what makes you happy.

Just be prepared, if you initially talked about getting a Camaro, or said that you liked them and what not. Or in my case even if you had two Brand new GM vehicles and liked the Camaro too.. But decide to buy a Mustang for whatever reason..

many folks will dismiss every post as trollish, or a "typical Mustang owner"

So my advise is, be prepared to be turned on by quite a few folks in the small world of C5.

Drive and enjoy.

unless you are set on style, for V6 my preference is mustang--V8 is a different story though

why not a 1SS?

I was in the exact same situation. Many good points have been made in the posts above, but for me, a six cylinder Mustang [even though it's quicker] still has a stigma that is "unacceptable", due to the previous iterations of that car.

When the new Camaro came out with a 300+ HP V-6, it became immediately "accepted". Plus, I already have a 5.0 Mustang as a toy.

I think you will find the Camaro as a better daily driver. However, if you're wanting more performance potential the Mustang is your deal.

I would still personally favor the Camaro V6
