I dont know what shape your z is in but a long time ago when I had a 94Z it went 13.9 @100mph bone stock. So if your Z does the same it will be a drivers race for the GT and you should beat the V6 pretty good. The GT has a slight edge on you though so you will have to hope he messes up.

if your 2010 is stock you will lose badly. if youve added suspension parts, then mine can add those same parts. and when we hit the straights i will laugh as i blow your ass off the track. and if you have stock brakes ill wear yours to fade, and laugh as i outbrake you.

Don't regret my choice one bit...I didn't buy my car strictly for performance but for the total package. I don't take it to the track and I don't street race. I know that the Challenger and Camaro are definitely more of a head turner than the Mustangs. Mustangs are everywhere. Be proud of your choice and enjoy it. If you try to keep up with the Joneses you will never be happy. I would be proud to own either of the three ponies but the Challenger fits my personality and my needs and I like being unique.

Meh, nothing in the OP that people don't already know. You have to come down to earth though. Ford has had 5 years to refine their car model. GM just started producing the Camaro a year ago. The Camaro has better styling than the Mustang and I think sales are proving that. Also, I don't agree with the criticism about noise. Nobody ever said the Camaro was a Buick. I have headers and exhaust on one of my TAs and I love the sound. The Camaro is big and bulky and that is a fair criticism, but even with the Vtec 5.0 I would rather have the Camaro's LS3 for serious power mods.
Judging by the latest internet race vids the 5.0 is not as fast as the hype predicted. In fact, it looks almost like another Ford fraud. Here is a stock 2011 vs a stock LS1. You would think it would have 10 lengths on the LS1, but it only managed a 13.2, about 2 1/2 car lengths: Or how about this one: |

LMAO. No mods in the first vid according to the poster (who talked to the owners). Yes the LS1 got predictably beat, but if the 2011 is a mid 12s car it should have been beat a lot worse. It wouldn't be the first time Ford sold a line of BS about their new cars.

It is hilarious to see that it was "filmed" in mexico,, but that sign at the end of the video was in english only.
"Caution Sewer Pipeline". We have enough trouble getting them to learn English when the jump here illegally, I highly doubt their signs are in English only in Mexico...

Who cares what happens on youtube? There are plenty of videos to back either position. It's been proven multiple times that the 5.0 is faster than the ls1 cars and as fast if not a bit faster than the ls3 cars. You will never see a stock ls1 run a 12.5@112, but multiple 5.0's have done it. Give it a rest, the ls3 and 5.0 are almost perfectly matched. The l99 vs a6 5.0 is less even, but that shouldn't be too surprising. |

yeah you are right. ford is lying about the power, weight, tires, and gearing. its all a conspiracy brought to us by aliens. the 5.0 does NOT make 412hp, it DOES NOT weigh 3600, it DOES NOT have 255/40-19 p-zero tires, and absolutley does not have 3.73's as an option. there really is no 5.0. it does not exist. its all a lie. aliens i say.

a lot of corvettes thought the same thing about blowing my ass off of the track, but just this past weekend i was putting down lap times a half second faster than them. having an extra 100 hp won't do much if you cant drive.... and you "could" add the same suspension parts that i have just like how i "could" swap out my engine or build it up.......
