Weird CEL

So I had a weird CEL experience. My cel turned on again and i only have k n n filter and slp exhaust and dt shorty headers. I installed my x pipe and it turned off? Is it normal for a cel to just disappear? It was on before the xpipe and on for about 50 miles then I started my car this morning it was gone.

Uh, whatever caused the CEL probably was fixed... it takes a couple miles before a fixed problem gets translated to the CEL naturally. Otherwise just have a ODBII scanner and remove the code... at least thats how I do it.

You might've had an exhaust leak that was tightened up or sealed when the x-pipe was installed. Do you know what the code was by chance?

I didn't get a chance to go to autozone to check the code.. It seriously turned on 1 day before I put the xpipe on and turned off 1 day after it was installed .

X-pipe is behind the sensors and should have absolutely no bearing on a CEL. Unless the battery was disconnected for the x-pipe install and that is what reset your computer. If so you will see it again after several miles. If it comes on again try to stop at the first Twilight Zone you can and let us know what the code is.
