Honestly, money isn't really an issue. Plus I could sell them. Also I might end up with a supercharger instead, I'm still undecided and have plenty of time to think about it.

I know what I'm doing.

lol you actually beefed up a transmission just to change to lt4 specs?

and if the mustang is a stick... you will probably loose from a 30 roll

My 97Z with LT1 auto did 13.9 in the 1/4 mile with Hooker catback and K&N cold air intake.

Jeez, 12.1 compression. What octane has to be run with that much compression? Its still very impressive for a NA 5.0 with no weight reduction or cams. On the time slip were you the left lane or right lane. lol JK. I think the day has finally come where fox bodies will be putting this new 5.0 in their car rather than the LS1 variant.

Tell me, ive been a chevy guy most my life but I wouldn't mind selling my 72 Monte Carlo and picking up a clean 93 notch back mustang and drop in the new Boss 302 create engine with a built high stall auto and trans brake, suspension and it should run low, low 10's with traction right out of the crate. It would make a fun and consistent weekend street drag car with some cool appeal due to the modern day boss 5.0L in the old 5.0 chassis, like something I could enter in Pink's All out instead of grinding 2nd gear in my Tremec TR 6060.

Looking at average times so far I would definitely give the edge to the v6 mustang.

I am guessing the 2011 v6 mustang is not the one with the performance package, as those are just now hitting the dealerships, so it will be a tick or two slower than most the times we have seen. I don't think I have seen a mag test the non performance package V6 mustang.

It should be a drivers race... Remember too, your talking about 14 yrs of suspension tech difference, 6sp tranies both auto and stick and an aray of gears to work with... If your stock, he should take you after 30 or so MPH as he has a lil less TQ but more HP than you...with 2 extra gears

Sub 14 sec 1/4 times at over 100mph are very very impressive for a 6 cyl in a 3400-3500lb car. In fact I'm wondering how they did that with the current power to weight ratio. When I had a stock Lt1 Z28 it went 13.9 @100mph and was 3400lbs. It also had 340lbs tq. and 285hp. How a 305hp 280tq 3500lb car is doing over 100mph traps is beyond me espessialy since there is no torque production until 4000 rpm and it only has 2.73 gearing.IDk

trap speed is an indicator of hp, not tq.

Actually that was with the performance package.

OP Whoever leaves first at the line will probably win the race, good luck and make sure you measure out an actual quarter mile. Even if you're faster in the 1/4 he will pull on you after said 1/4 and keep going.
