Well I'm pretty damn sure you don't have a Camaro and I'm pretty sure you never had a mustang either. Your post reeks of a 16 year old troll trying to stir up the pot. Consider it stirred. First Ford's motors are not better. Not by a long shot. They couldn't build a decent pushrod engine so they changed to DOHC with the 4.6L and still couldn't make the power of a chevy. Further proof is the fact that they needed to use the 5.4L to make any power. Try adding lots of power to a 4.6L with out spending money to replace half the rotating assembly and all the cams. An LS3 is almost bullet proof.

As for which is faster I believe even with the new 5.0L and a 400lbs advantage the Mustang still gets beat. Want proof here it is.

If there was no local competition and everyone just liked cars because they are domestic then whats the point of having multiple companies make sports cars? Friendly or not so friendly competition is good for everyone!!

Point 1, yes the older 4.6 can take more boost as its lower compression, however the rods are crap.
Point 2, Chevy built engines that make power w/ out boost, to do that you need higher compression, ie not boost friendly, just like the new 5.0. It can handle even less boost than the LS motors, but makes great power.
Point3, If the Camaro weighed the same as a mustang things would be interesting. You need 30rwhp to overcome 300lbs. So the LS3 would have to make 30rwhp more to overcome the weight. Advantage Mustang.

• The Ford / Chevy rivalry is as old as Ford and Chevy. And in the ponycar segment that rivalry is even stronger. It is usually good clean fun.
• If you go on the Mustang boards, and as a Mustang owner you most certainly must have, you will know that the "hate" level is just as high there. Again, its usually just bench racing bravado and good clean fun. If you take offense so easily I suggest you don't read the posts.
• The shift in power of who is the fastest occurs from year to year; many times Camaro is fastest, other years its Mustang. The new Camaro was crushing the Mustang, but for 2011 Mustang happens to have a bit of an edge. However nothing remains the same and some day Camaro will regain the lead.

I have also owned both Mustangs and Camaros, and it works the same on both sides of the fence. You currently own a Camaro and I suggest you run up your Camaro flag while you're in this camp. Otherwise don't post comments that attack this side but apply to both.

Uh I feel that your coments are just A LITTLE one sided.....I have never seen that hate on this site so I have no idea what you are talking about. Just for the record though I have never instigated a race, no matter what type of car is trying to race me. I have however had several mustangs try to race me.....funny how I have yet to have a challenger try to race me. It seems to me that alot of mustang owners are cocky pricks....NOT ALL just alot of them are. They always trying to race and show off. I will admit that maybe it is just in my area but I have yet to see camaro owners or challenger owners act like asses, burning out from stoplights and taking corners at 60 MPH. I see mustangs do that crap all the time.....I personally don't care whos car is faster. I like the Camaro and always have. I personally believe that the mustang, camaro and challenger are all american muscle and if you are a true car enthusiast then it shouldn't matter who has what. I can admire the plus and minus of all three cars.

Anybody claiming "blowing" a mustang/camaro/challenger away stock vs stock is retarded. Professional drivers can edge one car out over an another but my bet is 99% of the people on this site are not pros. All 3 cars are on pretty much equal ground for us non pros here and nobody is blowing anyone away.
