Although I am a big Pedders fan and already have some of there parts on my car their springs are a bit pricey for me. But I do like the fact that Pedders claim that their drop springs do not adversly affect the ride quality at all.

Decisions...decisions
Drop springs haven't been out long enough to know the long term affect on the OEM struts. With us sharing a lot of the same parts as the G8, they can estimate pretty well though.

One thing you have to keep in mind is, ride quality is VERY subjective. What may be a better ride to one person may be considerably harsher to aonther. You need to ride in some cars with the springs you're considering before you decide. I have the Pfadt sport springs and really like them. They are definitely harsher than stock but it's still a very nice ride. Not too bouncy and not too stiff. Recoil is right on and it's more forgiving than a lot of Vettes i've been in. I chose Pfadt over Pedders for the extra drop height. You can't go wrong with either. Most of the better springs are about the same price. Eibach and Vogtland are the cheapest. It comes down to what you want.

It all depends on your perspective. Spending $250+ on a set of springs, only to have to buy several hundred dollars worth of parts to get them to work properly isn't what most people want. With that much of a drop you get a terrible ride and constant hitting of the bumpstops. Coilovers can be had for around $1k and the ride is CONSIDERABLY better. You also get full suspension travel. You'll still need to get camber plates but you'll enjoy riding in your car much more.

Well that's your opinion. Like you said, it's based on the buyer's perspective and what they want. I am aware of bad ride quality, bumps, etc.

But this is the lowest drop for our cars without spending big $$$ for coilovers. I haven't run into someone who has put the H&R Super Sport Springs on their Camaro so I am more than likely to be the first to try them out and will let every one else know what the ride quality will be like, any damage, etc.

In all fairness, it's pretty subjective. You have your opinion and I have mine.

Thanks for your input.

xLogik1, I'm getting my H&R Super Sport Springs installed this thursday and i'll post some pics for you. I had the same feedback from the e60.net forum members saying that it's too low and this and that because H&R makes a 2inch drop for the 2007 BMW 550i. But when they saw my car at the meets a lot of the other members started getting the H&R springs too. It is true that it will wear out your stock shocks faster then stock springs but you can still go about 40k miles before that happens. Even the coilover will wear out within 40k-60k. The way I look at it I can buy 2 sets of shocks for the price of a good coilover set. I didn't worry about it with my $68k BMW, I'm not going to worry about it in my 2SS

Awesome iceman, nice to see someone else going the same route.

Please come back to this thread and post pics ASAP!! I am more than likely going to order these springs by Friday.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you order yours from?

Thanks.

Something is wrong then. The Super Sport springs are suppose to drop your car close to 2in. My 1.25in Pfadt springs look almost identical to your drop. Blakechases's car looks to have the SS springs. Yours looks like it has just the sport springs.
