Snow Driving an LS
I've driven many rear wheel drive cars. It's funny how everyone makes such a big deal out of it. It's really nothing. My camaro ss handles extremely well in the heavy rain even getting on it. So here is what I have to say. There was a day when all cars were rear wheel drive and everyone drove in the snow. We didn't have independent suspension, traction control, and stabilitrak. We still did it just fine. The biggest issue is the tires. SS's have large wide tires that are no good for the snow. If someone with an SS bought snow tires and/or different rims that were less wide then the SS car would be just fine in the snow. It can be done on 20's but 18's would be better. It's the width more than the hieght that is important. Your car being an LS already has narrower rims and smaller rims so all you need are 4 snow tires if your car doesn't alreay come with good tires for the snow. Like any car you have to learn how to drive it in the snow. The big issue is really the front of the car. You have to be careful not to damage the nose of the car if there is a snowbank at the end of your driveway or something.

that was my thinking. i'll try the all seasons for now but if they are really bad it is easy enough to switch them out for full winters. i had winter tires on my old corolla and it was night and day vs. the all seasons. they were so much better. but that car had none of the safety stuff we have now like ABS and traction control and stabilitrak. so we shall see....
