My only comment on this subject - no matter what, everybody needs to know how to drive a manual transmission "just in case." I taught my college bound niece because I didn't want her to get stuck in a situation where she was the only sober person in the group but couldn't be the driver. Beyond that, drive what you like - both have their merits.

The auto searches & changes at inopportune times for no apparent reason. When I attempt to utilize manual mode, the down shifts are lethargic and therefore unpredictable. Up shifts are not crisp in all gears, so despite the fact that I don't lose boost the acceleration of the auto is not as fast as the 6M in real world high performance driving. Sudden, unexpected shifts from the auto with the Pro-Charger Stage II power can easily lead to loss of traction and potentially cause an accident when this sort of thing happens in the act of driving through a turn on the edge of adhesion. For everyday putting around town with a burger & drink, I'm gonna miss that Auto, but when it's time to get serious there's no comparison whatsoever. Thus, I've put my money down to make the switch!

NICE!

As well as if you want to drag race and build a fast car.

Manual is for the fun of it and the enthusiast.
I DISAGREE...
i know it sounds bad..but i never had touched a MANUAL..before even considering buying the camaro..my friend taught me 1st gear in his car 1 week before buying my camaro..i turned out to be a quick learner and my FIRST ever manual car was a 2010 CAMARO..
so have at it if you feel comfortable..but i do suggest practicing in another car..not to LEARN exactly..but to see how much you like it..and if u ffeel u can do it EVERYDAY.=]

I have the auto and wish I had gotten a manual.

The AFM system bothers me. Hate the stumbling, surging and noise.

Then again I might also get tired of shifting all the time also.

You could always have it tuned out. I hardly even notice it.

Won't that void your warranty?

Why would I need skill in shifting to be a better driver if I have a car that doesn't require me to shift?

Probably will tune it out, but only if I keep this car after warranty is out. Don't want to loose the warranty coverage.

Hoping some one finds a way to eliminate it w/o a tune.

Have had several manuals, but am getting lazy in my old age.

You wouldn't still want it all if you had it all, says the lady w/ the A6.
