Actually, it was probably more like 12. Until I got this car all we had owned were Silverados and Suburbans, and I have zero interest in shifting either of them.

Stock for Stock... it's a toss up...

Throw in some tuning and a torque convertor and the L99 is way more fun...

Like I said, shift a lever. Not hard.

I will agree the manual can be funner. But I like to drink my coffee at all times. hahahahahaha.
I had my soda take-out from McD's tonight. I don't make an effort to consume the beverages in my vehicle, but I did. So, I wanted to take a sip, and a shift was coming up.

What I did was, I sipped the beverage I was holding with my right hand, then I put a wrist on the wheel, and grabbed the shift lever with the left hand, and went into the next gear.

I put the beverage down, then I selected the gear after the one just selected with my right hand, business as usual.

It's amazing what us M6 drivers will do without really giving it a second thought! LOL

WoW... that IS amazing...

I once took a drink and instinctively didn't put it back in the cup holder while moving through 4 gears doing zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds...
Business as usuall in an A6

I am almost always in tap shift so I am kind of limited as with a manual but every now and then I will put it in sport mode and enjoy the same luxurly you described. With an A6 you have the option, best of both worlds.

Every time I go to a show and people look in my car I hear, "Thank God, someone got a manual."

Sports cars should not have an automatic option, just my 2 cents.

You're wrong. The A6 is ALREADY 1500.00 more. And the auto guy pays it. The stick is a lot cheaper. No brainer for a guy on a budget.

EVERY subject will have those who get angry. I see nothing wrong with this topic. We have moderators who will worry about that.

Beyond that, drive what you like - both have their merits.
Agreed. 100%..............

Ya. I get it. I ate actuall meals in styrofoam trays with a fork while driving a tractor trailer.

I'd just prefer to do it with less chance of something happening. What would you have done if someone had pulled out or stopped short? You'd have more than likely spilled your drink. Had a greater chance of it anyway.

No biggie, you just clean it up. But I like to reduce the risk. I hate cleaning stuff.

I have never been happier trading my M6 for an A6. I tap shift like crazy when I want and toss that baby in "D" when I am in traffic. It truely is the best of both worlds.
