I figured I better put my car away today after having to drive through some crappy weather and salt on the road. I wasn't happy about seeing the salt so I figured I better give it a good wash when I got home. I put it in the shop, jacked it up, took the wheels off, then seen how bad it was. I ended up pulling off all my inner fenders, my plates, both mufflers and the rear splitter. I couldn't believe all the sand and salt I washed off the underside of the car. Especially in the rockers and behind all the inner fenders.

All in all, a couple hours extra work to enjoy driving the car a couple extra weeks. Definitely worth it!

I, sadly, can't store mine this winter :(. I have a bunch of block days of training for work, and will need a vehicle, and it'll be the only one available. I'm so upset. I'll have to drive it as little as possible.

They keep it on for Theft but they extend your account for the amount of months you put your car away for storage.. BUT they will not do it if it is still on the first year of the car from GM.

That reminds me! I have to call them to extend the amount of time I can use the minutes on my car phone! I remember them telling me they expire after a year or something and since I paid for them I should be able to extend them.

Thanks, since I'm still on my first year I guess I don't need to call.

ya i had an issue with the onstar mintues on my truck. i called bout 3 days before my minutes expired, went to use my phone the day the minutes were due to expire and they said i had none. i was pissed so i called them, they had record of my call, realized there was technical difficulties, gave me an extra 100 min on top of what i had remaining for roll over and downloaded them properly to my truck. they also told me that cuz i'm only driving each vehicle for 6 months of of the year that when i put one vehicle down i can transfer any remaining minutes on that vehicle to the other vehicle while i'm driving it. totally love onstar woot woot

Well another idea I just found out about from my mechanic is

- 1st You should do a fresh oil change anyway because of built up condensation, etc in the older oil

- 2nd - Fill it one litre less than it takes?

- 3rd - in the spring take a litre and top it up a short while before you start the car in the spring to help lubricate the top end

Easy to do to!
