Initially I was up in the air myself. I had never owned a Chevy before, and the only Dodge I ever owned was their Aspen that I bought back in 1980. All I knew was that as much as I wanted a "muscle" car in my late teens and early 20's, I couldn't handle the price at that time. Then, after marrying and having 2 kids quickly, we bought the Aspen and other cars for practical reasons. Now, the kids all grown and being able to afford it, finally getting a "muscle" car was at the top of my bucket list. I considered all three...the Mustang, the Challenger and of course the SS Camaro. 1. The Mustang - I just didn't like. 2. The Camaro - there wasn't much Not to like. 3. The Challenger - I liked, but IMHO, definitely OVERPRICED. Easy decision, really. trueblue |

They did a awesome job on the Challenger. No doubt on my purchase, but the Challenger was also in the running. I just frequent dealerships of cars that I like when im in the area. Afterwards I left went across street to look at the Ford Raptor and Roush Mustang. Just a car guy

Are you are living in Fantasy Land? the SS tears the SRT8 apart in every measurable performance category.

I like how Chevy, Dodge and Ford all came out with a throwback model of the original muscle cars, however, that being said and acknowledging that they are all nice cars and a good job done by each manufacturer. . . . . .
the CAMARO is BY FAR WAY THE BEST! WAY!

I gotta say I love a clean SRT8. If the camaro had not come out or had been equally priced with a chally i would have gotten a black srt8 and blacked it out completely. Flat black stripes/rims everything. But I love my SS and I think I made the right choice and have no regrets. Maybe if I win the lotto I'll get the chally too.

haha!Seriously honestly, I believe you. But I have stories to tell as well. Let me preface this by telling you that I own an SRT8 Challenger. I've gotten to know a few of your members here and we get along great, face to face in fact so don't be so quick to trash my post. ![]() Yes, I've always been drawn to the design of my Challenger (it all started with Mopars for me with the 'Cuda in the horror movie Phantasm). So really, my car satisfies numero uno! And isn't that all that counts? For good measure, I've test drove the Mustangs and Camaros as well just to know what I was up against. I still bought the Challenger and it was actually an easy decision. :emoticon7: Anyway, true stories right? Ok then, these go back to when I was shopping for my Challenger. The first one is when I was at a Ford dealership in Vineland N.J. named Lilliston. Well, they had a black SRT8 Challenger up front near the showroom doors. Yes, at a Ford dealer. Well it turns out that Lilliston also has a Dodge/Chrysler dealership a town over. The black SRT8 was the owners new ride! I got to talking with the salesman who took me for a test drive. Nicest guy ever actually. Turns out he is an old Mopar nut. He sells Ford product simply because they sell a lot more than Chrysler products. But he let me know that out of all the new muscle cars if he had the money to spend, he would lay it on the Challenger. Next story. Related. In the back of the dealership is the body shop. In the back I had noticed one day a Hemi orange Challenger with it's front bumper removed. I pulled in and started talking to 2 guys. The head body shop guy and his associate. The body shop guy is a die hard Mopar guy. And both of them when I asked them to be honest said they prefer the Challenger to either the Mustang or Camaro. Last story. My daily driver is a Honda Civic. Where I take it for service is an automall in Turnersville N.J.. Right next to the Honda is Chevy. So one day while getting service I walked next door to check things out. Got to talking with a salesman about the Camaro and what he thought of it. He leaned in and said he likes it but really likes that "Dodge Challenger". And he had no clue I did either at that point in the conversation. So the moral of my stories? That it's all a matter of personal preference. We all take the good with the bad with our cars. They all have good and bad. And I want to also mention that I'm pleasantly surprised at the level of good will towards the Challenger in this thread. As an outsider I appreciate the level of ![]() And for good measure I will without hesitation say that while I don't "love" the new Camaro like you all (just as you all might not "love" the Challenger like I)...I do like that synergy green color one! Synergy Green Camaro Hemi Orange Challenger One for me One for me Fine, you talked me into it!
