I just installed the newest no-tune version yesterday to replace the original version which had some surging/bucking. So far no surging at all, definately a big difference from the old unit. I took a few pics, the new version is on top.

I'm sure they have their reasons BUT if there was one thing, and it's minor, that I would like is to have the PCV line in the hard parts instead the soft coupler. I assume it's to allow the MAF to get a better total read on the incoming airflow.

I can only assum the same. At first I didn't see the PCV fitting in the rubber coupler so I was like WTF, did they forget a whole? It is hard to tell but the MAF sensor is pushed as far back as it can go, which might be 1/2" compared to the original.

I'm looking at getting the Vararam, trying to decide between the tune model and the non-tune. Can I use a hand held tuner like a Diablo sport or do I have to send the computer away to get it programmed?

An over the counter tuner would not be able to make adjustments for a Tune Model.

I can Custom tune it with SCT X3 via Email

A tune model would benefit you most if you are going to tune.

Ted.

If I were going to tune, this is route I would go... Sure is difficult holding out on the tuning. It's only been 6 months and it's killing me.
