Wink Maiden voyage....solo or with someone special??

So I ws watching a video of all the GM guys rubbing it in our faces of them driving the concept around and it got me to thinking. We talked about music playin and mods and the sort, but will you do the first drive solo or with say the girlfriend, wife, dog, blowup doll, you know whatever gets ya goin....

I have a girlfriend, no telling if she will still be around when I get back from Iraq, but oh well, I think that I am definitely gonna have to make the first drive solo, I don't wanna share the ambience with anyone, except for maybe a hot girl driving by. With my girlfriend in the car I can't try to flirt and see what type of chick magnet(check the scene from Borat when he tries to buy a hummer) is installed in the car.

Good topic. I'll just say the car will be my special someone. It's all about the bond with the car.

DEFINITELY solo! It's like Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds... You have to get acquainted with the car!

My first drive..................................

I was thinking about this as well. I think I will pick it up with my wife. We'll go to lunch and then we'll get our daughter from school. If it's a Tuesday we'll go to our favirite car show in the next city. After a few hours of sucking down hot dogs, fries and ice cream will head home. With the stars shining and the V8 playing it's highway song...I can't think of a better to introduce the newest addition to the world.

Probably by myself...The car needs to be fully mine before I share it with anyone...

But I'm not gonna deny my girlfriend the pleasure of a first ride...

....That came out wrong....

EDIT:
I feel like an ass...After reading Moose's post...I, too. WILL be taking my Pops along for the first trip. He was the one who introduced me to Camaro, and to car's in general - I owe him everything in that subject area.

That first ride will go to my Dad.

When I was 15, he came home from work one day, and handed me a set of keys.

"What are these to?"

"Go outside and take a look."

He came home with my first Camaro! The Camaro was a '75, which my Aunt was about to trade in to the dealer. My Dad, knowing how much I liked the car, bought the car for me.

Thanks Dad

For the moment, I would love to get the car on a saturday morning and use a tank of gas to get to know the car, perhaps take a drive out to my borther's. He's the real car guy in the family. Bought a 69 Chevelle when he was 15, that was back in 1990. A couple years later he disassembled, cleaned, then reassembled the engine. Still owns the car, brings it out in the summer. On top of that he has owned too many other vehicles to count but some of the notables on the list list are: El Camino, Z28, Firebird GTA, Grand Prix (I think it was a GXP), numerous full sized chevy pickups, and it goes on. Currently has a old Impala (its bigger than the suburban he just sold) to take to the strips, once he gets an engine and some other things. It is from him that I have learned much of what I know about cars.

lol must be nice, I had to buy my 89 Buick Skylark from my dad. That and he doesn't really know a thing about Camaros except for the fact that he doesn't like mine because it's loud and it has too much horsepower and doesn't want me to get hurt in it. He's a big wuss, I'm still going solo even though my girlfriend would get pissed if I didn't take her, it's just something she would have to understand. :P

I'll most likely be flying solo. Although I will most likely take my dad for a spin. I'm in the same boat as Dragon. My love for the Camaro is in great thanks to my dad. After that I'll most likely cruise around town alongside my buddy in his 2005 GTO.

Damn solo mates! with all due respect to all of your opinions lads. You won't feel that you own the road if you don't rub it into other people's faces first.
so it is gonna be SOLO. And I know I will be high and playing Metallica's Master Of Puppets. Or perhaps Enter Sand Man. Haven't decided yet. Woo hoo!!
