SS spring swap on LT

I have done some checking with dealer but not confident with the answer I got. Have completed some minor suspension mods on my LT looking at springs now. I have heard too many clearance issues with lowering springs so was thinking I could improve my handeling without lowering springs by swapping out springs from an SS. Does anyone know if this is a viable swap and does anyone see any issues with this. Trying to save a lil money as well.

Honestly, it would be a waste of time and money. You shouldn't have any issues with something like BMR 1 inch springs.

Seeing that the V6 and V8 are pretty close in weight, I don't see how SS springs would be a worthwhile investment unless you got the springs for free and did the work yourself. Even then, I doubt you could tell much of a difference.

Thanks for the imput guys. Since my components are BMR items and I have been happy with them I will check into BMR 1".

You may want to look into their 1.4in drop or the Pfadt 1.25in drop. The V6 seems to sit a little higher than the SS so the extra bit would give you the SS lowered look.

I'm not sure the difference between the SS suspension and the V6 suspension( as in what's actually different) but what i do know is that there is a difference. I was at a 1.8 mile road course recently and noticed a big difference in body roll from my SS to the V6 that was out. (and of course a big difference in lap time....lol but it is a v6 so that is to be expected)

But i have to agree that if you can't get them for next to nothing it's worth it to buy some aftermarket springs
