That's why I made my comment about perspectives.

ZL1 is not a name, it's mearly an alpha numeric "RPO" (regular production option) code to which they can assign anything. In 1969 it was assigned to the all aluminun, 4 bolt solid cam, 12.5 compression, 427. Look at the 6.2L LS3. Originally in 1970 the LS3 was a hydraulic cam 402.
If they make a king of the hill Camaro, so to speak, it would be historically correct to give it the option code of "ZL1". Right now the king of the hill motor is the LS9. I hope if they do it, they use the LSA, cause I can't afford a car with the mighty LS9 in it. |

The Z/28 should have a LSA, and if they offer a ZL1 it should include the LS9.

Didn't Fbodfather say
"Any Chevy that has extra power and is sportier can be a SS, but only a Camaro can be a Z/28" That is why the Z/28 can be a higher grade then the SS imo.

what i have a hard time understanding is why everything has to be so historically oriented to you guys?
i understand the nostalga of having a z/28 in the place where it belongs and how there's alot of interpertation to that BUT like it's been touted many many many times, this is an all new 21st century sports coupe (end quote GM)... what do you think would make more money and help keep around the camaro for a while? the ZL1 labeled top dog or the Z-28? ---- in all honesty, put in perspective; how many people even know about the ZL1? how many know the name Z-28 and already know your talking about a camaro? take those numbers and think of them in terms of potential buyer base, as it's been said a million times, whatever the z turns into will be a decision made by the people who count numbers through the suggestions of the people who know what passion behind the term camaro comes. eventually, the z will come and it will be something that alot of people will want to buy. |

I think it's a mistake not to have a Z/28 model but whatever.
I'm surprised they didn't call it the ZL8 (Z-late) since they're years behind the Mustang supercharged models. I love Chevy but they need to bring it sooner than later. |
