Options cost less than buying service parts.

When your paying for an option, it's an upgrade from the base parts. The factory base shifter was included in the price of the car, the optional Hurst is the upgrade difference.

It's like the upgrade radio. Option price is this.... try buying all those radio parts as service parts ...$$$$$$.

Understand that, but at least they could offer it as an accessory....
no different than my $900 wheel option on my Terrain. if I were to buy seperate from dealer they are $700 each
stupid in my opinion

The Hurst aftermarket shifter itself cannot be "modded" to change the throw reduction. BUT any of the Hurst aftermarket sticks can switched for the short stick that come in the kit. A longer stick will increase the throw as explained in your previous thread on this subject: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129072

Feel free to PM me if you have any additional questions or need some direct answers.

hey bro
I talked to the Hurst rep specifically about this while on the phone. His take on it was that yes it could make the "feel" of the throw a bit less, but all in all it still was a 44% throw
In all honestly Im going to try to get GM to work with me. They have in the past as long as your workable. Id much rather have the factory hurst boot and logo also.
Thanks again for the help!

This is absolutely not true. By pure geometry, adding a longer stick on top you are increasing the throw. Like I said, if you need direct answers PM me.

Here it is at www.gmpartsdirect.com for $446.35. Not sure if they are in stock, but price looks pretty good. This part number matches this guys hurst shifter.

They're not in stock but are special order. Will take 7-10 days for it to get to you.
