decent split between the numbers.... and that wide(r) LSA is going to help with the nitrous and driveability, and the +3 is going to help getting the heavy car moving.
That's my front runner right now.

I started with the article you referenced... but these cams were not quite big enough... I don't mind some drivability issues... so started digging in to each one to see what the Stage II & III offerings were.

The MTI's are my leading candidates right now... I'll def add that Vengeance Stage III to my list. Who is Pat Guerra? Is he with Vengeance?
Pat G is a tech on LS1 TECH on line and he is supposedly a super good cam expert.I would look him up.

When I was going through the same thing I was able to get ahold of Kevin at MTI and he said it was 114 LSA.

It dont look like either of the (2) custom grind cams would be to driver friendly...

I agree... the Intake duration leaves no PV clearance as the heads I'm installing have huge intake valves...

Send us a pm with your email address and I'll send you a form to fill out for a cam speced to meet your needs. Shelf cams are good for getting you close a custom cam will meet you personal and specific needs. Our cams are spec'ed by HKE and true leader in LSx technology.

Of everything listed above including the custom camshafts our Stage III LS3 still seems to be the obvious choice. The custom camshafts are getting too big on duration and you will notice a lack of low end power as well as descreased drivability. We run a 239/251 camshaft in several of our LS7 builds and it is a beast, BUT lacks alot of power down low which is what your 4000lb Camaro needs.

Please remember that these "shelf cams" are custom tailored to the LS3 and have been proven on many applications.

If you haven't made up your mind yet, you might want to contact Ed. at Flowtech. After hearing lots of good information from the GTO guys I contacted him for a cam for my GTO. He designed me the perfect cam for what I wanted. His cam packages aren't the cheapest, but you get a great setup.

So you might want to contact him just to get some information.

I agree this is definitely the front runner..... one reason I started looking off the shelf was they are proven...
