There have been so many of these installed into cars however that I would assume they don;t feel its necessary to offer them up as accessory items though, just my 2 cents
unfortunatly the rep on the phone pretty much said GM isnt worried about us 2010 Camaro guys wanting this. That may not actually be GM's true thoughts, but it is what she conveyed.
List price for everything with this shifter is about $800. My dealer will get me to about $600.... still $200 higher than the factory ordered cost. I asked them for $100 in a voucher or coupon... All I got was, were sorry your upset you cannot order this shifter...
Scripted answers that didnt pertain at all, that the part I am really mad about. You cannot even respond without the scripted sheets over something as simple as this?
what happens when a tranny blows out of a suburban with only 30,000 miles... oh yea thats right. Same scripted answers....

yup $500 for a Hurst short throw.
I want the Hurst for a reason... The company is top notch and has tried to work with me 10 times more than the company who sold me the $40,000 car....
Im loyal like that.

The boot is the same, you need the shift knob its about $80 retail. prob get it for around $70 or so
if you dont want the 22% reduction and are ok with the 44% reduciton, by all means, get the aftermarket.
Me personally, I just didnt like the 44%

The camaro shifter straight from Hurst is the one with the shorter throw. The Hurst that comes with the car from factory is 44% shorter throw.

GM factory hurst is 22% throw reduction
aftermarket hurst is 44% throw reduction
I want the 22% the 44% is too much for me
the 44% being the shortest throw "more reduction"

When you put it apples to apples
you can get the aftermarket anywhere from 300-350 range
then to get the GM Hurst handle you would spend another $70 or so
then the GM lever about $20
for $150-$200 more you can order the GM Hurst.
For me its worth it for the throw reduction of the GM Hurst....
was just hoping for something from GM to make it maybe a $50-$100 difference :/

I talked to Maureen about the Hurst. She's the parts manager at Rodgers Chevy and she wrote me this....The numbers you have are for the oem parts. GM has an accessory number that will be alot cheaper, but they have not released any further information on eta. We dont have pricing on it yet. I have alot of people waiting for them to be released. Last update was supposed to be in January as you can see they a behind scheduled for any info. Will keep you posted.
