So the j pipes act like a muffler, I was just concerned without the muffler it would be obnoxiously loud, dont want to piss off the wife and neighbors

When utilizing the L99 with no modifications, how do the new J-pipe set ups compare with the old quantum set up in term of tone, db level, and drone? I'm a little torn in my decision process, as the asthetics of each is starting to come into play.

The J pipes cancel out the frequencies of drone that existed without them. It will definitely not be obnoxious...we design it for the daily driver

The new J pipe design will be similar in tone, but a little more refined and no drone inside the car at all. The volume will be slightly less than the previous quantum, and it never becomes intrusive at all!

Just got back from a 2 hour trip across the 407 in Toronto and the car sounds great! Interior is quiet and the exhaust tone is deep and rich with no drone. My wife was with me and even she approved! But, when you stand on it, it roars. The photos don't do justice to the appearance of the system (or car due to the road grime and salt).

Thanks for the feedback...we really appreciate it! The photos I posted were the rough ones from on your car...the new kits will be clean and beautiful

I'd say within the next 10 days and the price will be below $500 shipped for the axle back.

I've been waiting for this system, but now a problem arises. In another post (link below), the flowmaster system (attempted install by another C5 member) will NOT fit on the new convertibles. It appears that the rear bracing interfers with clearance slightly foward of the mmufflers. It appears that this might affect all systems, including the solo's. Steve, can you please take a look at this and give us your input? Thanks.

We are checking on it and I will get back to you as soon as I get an answer for you. I am having the owner and our lead designer and fabricator look at the pictures in the thread. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We had an idea that the convertibles would have some extra support underneath, but we didn't know in what form or placement.

Steve

UPDATE: Give me a call when you get a chance...we'd love to get a kit on the convertible.

Not yet...but it won't be too far off from around $899 shipped...the group buy will reduce that as well, pretty significantly.
