great thread going here !!!! It is tough to compare cares like this. Purpose built for different reasons. The GT500 is a staple of americana and american muscle car history. When you own one, you are really owning the name (obviously). The Boss is gunna be one bad ass car. But if we are gunna compare it to a camaro, why not the SSX????

The SSX is more in the Boss 302S's class (the red Boss posted above, actually on page #2). Both of them would be in GT3 here in Europe or GA-GT in the US. They are very serious classes.

I think the ZL1 is meant to be a direct competitor to the GT500, and really nothing else. The BOSS is in a class of its own and as I mentioned in a previous post would be better compared to maybe the SSX. The ford GT is an unreal car, and I dont think the ZL1 would hold a candle to it. And a part of me just cant believe that the ZL1 will out perform the Z06.....

He was being sarcastic about comparing the GT to the ZL1.... and that's probably a given that the ZL1 is a GT500 competitor...

The Z06 kicked the GT500's butt in my new Motortrend. So for the ZL-1 to beat the Z06, I just don't see it.

In think they are in for a surprise when the ZL1 shows up.
