AFM Should be a four letter word

Dont delete mufflers if you plan on doing more simple mods and dont want to tune or add expensive axel backs. I added solo high flow cats last week, witch I love. I also have K&N CAI and muffler delete. the car sounds great until the afm turns on. I followed my car in my jeep yesterday to see what it sounded like, when the gurgling afm started it sounded bad enough I dont want to drive it. I bought the solo cats so i did not have to tune, I just ordered a SCT tuner from Jannetty Racing, ( I know it will be fun) just to turn off the afm. If that doesnt work I may order an axel back or put on mufflers. I will post video later

Did HPtuners street tune which I will be finishing tomorrow, but already had them turn off AFM. I can tell you.. Not only will the car sound like a V8 again, but you won't have the sluggish response and delay when AFM hits.

AFM was a great idea by GM for people who do a ton of highway driving, and keeping this car from the gas guzzler tax, but I really wish there would have been an option to remove at purchase so I didn't have to tune so soon, subsequently keeping my warranty longer...

My Solo J-pipe axle backs are great and I still have AFM on my L99 with no droan. But they do seem to get louder when totally warmed up say on a 200+ mile trip.

So I assume this replaces the whole cat/mid-pipe section that the stock cats were on, correct? Did the kit come with flex pipes mounted above the cats? If not, thats an issue as well before you tune out AFM

I don't get why GM didn't just make a LS3 an option for auto equipped cars.
