Something interesting that I found between the 2 manuals, the 2010 tells you to EITHER use the pair tool (which you can purchase) or change the tire pressure. The 2011 says nothing about changing the pressure, and sounds like they want you to buy the tool. So at this point who knows? All I really know is I have done it the way the manual says and I haven't had a problem and I know mine are working now because I have inflated the tires and watched it change on the dic.

Well, considering I've had my wheels coming off and going on and coming off again for so long, I may have been setting them wrong all that time. So it was reading wrong. AND I had my sensors stolen while they were at Savini in California so I went for a while with none, and then when I had them on the car finally WITH the good sensors, I told the shop how to do it. They said they'd look it up.

OMFG...... I have been setting the wrong wheels in the wrong possitions all this time. THey are only right becasue the shop looked it up.

BUT, I know for a fact that the sensors read a constant pressure and you can't change that. If there is 37 lbs. of pressure then your sensor will read that.

The only thing I can think of is that when you hit relearn, it went into learn mode, and then because nothing happened it went back to the previous sensor settings so it may not have changed anything? When I did it the first time, I got the first 2 tires to learn, and not the last 2 in time, and it wouldn't read anything. Maybe this is different in your case because nothing actually changed? Pure speculation though.
Tire pressure was at 32 at three tires and 31 at rear left pulling her out of the garage after the long winter. I went up to my local station filled all tires to 36 by the gauge then hit relearn. Car beeps twice, very loud i might add prolly scared somebody Approx. a minute or so the DIC now reads 36 at all tires. Never read the manual so i just went with the mindset that i did it correctly.

Sounds like it auto learned? I'm not sure, but according to the manual, that shouldn't have worked?
Have you noticed the pressure change at all? I would check and see if they all still read 36 and if they do, maybe deflate one a little bit to see if it changes.

You start with the front driver, move to the front passenger, rear passenger, and rear driver. I would suggest deflating them as to not over-inflate, then once they are all learned, go around and inflate each tire. The dic should update after this process has been completed and you should be able to see each reading live.
Again, it is in the 2010 manual, 9-62.
10-62 in the 2011
Hope this helps

I've had an occassional 37-38 reading in the past and have let some air out, went the relearn process again to get it to 36. I dunno what else to say

So I didn't have time to mess with it last night. Fired it up today in the garage and all tires showed 32 psi. About a 1/4 mile down the road and they changed: 33 in the fronts, 37 right rear, 35 left rear. My fill gauge said 36 on all, but again, the gauge is suspect. I will air it in the shop at work today (i know that gauge is accurate) and see if it fixes itself. If not, I will do the relearn procedure. Thanks to whom ever posted the steps!

That's what happened in my 10SS. I got a little too curious one day and hit reset to see what it would do. It reset the tire pressure to 32 on each tire. As I was flipping through the manual I shut the car off and when I turned it back on (with knowledge of what I did) the sensors had reset to previous setting.

I have a very accurate pressure gauge I used when I raced my STi. I used it last night to set my tires to 38 each. I have not driven the car yet this morning so I'm going to set them all to 36, then hit the "relearn" and drive to work and see what happens. Will post results tonight.

I am sure the DIC is incorrect now. It read 34 on three and 35 on one after I set them to 38 using my Longacre.

If all you did was inflate the tires to the correct pressure, you shouldn't have to 'relearn' them at all.

Relearning the sensors should only be needed if you change one, or take the wheels/tires off and put different ones back on.

as long as the same sensor stays on the same wheel at the same location on the car, you shouldn't have to relearn them.

You may have to drive the car a bit after setting the pressures before the sensors display the new pressures tho.

Seems like it would be easier, more sense, more practical, less of a headache to use a real mechanical tire pressure gage

Relearn is for changing tires from one position to another, not for sensing pressure change after inflating tires.

The re-learn method that uses pressure change to trigger sensors doesn't work on newer 2011's. If it's not in your manual, then it doesn't work and you need the relearn tool.

Yup...."relearn" is only for when you put a new tire on the wheel.
Just put in pressure using your tire gauge. After you drive for a mile or two the DIC will read the new pressure. No need to hit the relearn when just adding air.

I have a 2011. The manual doesn't say anything about the pressure change, but it works just fine. I've done it twice now when swapping my winter tires on and off.
