With the Vararam in, the low end torque is unmistakenly much better than stock. Bottom line, there are a lot of nice systems out there. This is a thread for Vararam discussion. If you want to take a shot at Vararam, then you should have done it in a PM to that member.
Bro really? Calm down were talking intakes not eachothers moms. IF you would have actually taken the time to read my follow up post minutes later your response probably wouldnt have even been typed. Didnt know someones comment (OPINION) on the (LOOKS) of an intake would push you that far over the edge....

Unreal, lol...

Yes I got a brand new one. After knowing what it was like, I just couldn't ingore it any longer. Plus I wanted to revisit things like FT etc, that I didn't last time. I'm going to hang on to my ADM Roto-Jacket hybrid, because it showed such good numbers on the dyno. But for daily driving the VR is just more fun...even though I can't put a number on it.

I hope the FTs aren't too bad so I can just ingnore them. But I have a feeling it's going to take tuning before I'm happy with the numbers.

Jason I think he was refering to bumble-bee, as this isn't the first time for bumble-bee iirc.

And from me you are welcome. I try to tell it like it is good and bad. Just the way I am. Some people don't like that though.

As far as you trying one, you have nothing to loose. They have a money back guarantee that they do honor. Pretty sure you will like the performance.

Umm, yeah, I was not referring to any of your comments with that post and I 'm not sure how you felt I was addressing you at all since I quoted the person I was talking about. Oh, and really, you thought that was over the edge. That's a good one.

IndeedSS1, nice to hear more comparison info from someone who has actually taken the time to compare various intakes on their car instead of just reading about it!

As you probably know from my own thread on the vararam (I hope I'm not cross posting too much here), I've tried to be as objective and scientific as possible during my vararam install. I've logged all sorts of info before (including fuel trims), ran my dynolicious app for 0-60 and 1/8th mile times (not enough room to do 1/4 mile, unfortunately) and had multiple stock dyno pulls. Now I'm repeating all the same tests after the VR install. I've posted my immediate after dyno pulls, I've finally got close to 100 miles on it so I'll log the same data today and post it this evening, then do my dynolicious runs again after it stops raining and I have dry pavement.

Unlike you, I don't have any other aftermarket intakes to compare it to, but I'm impressed by how it feels already!

I for one appreciate what you are doing. Eventually I'll go pay to have my car dynoed one more time to see if perhaps my first time with the less than desirable numbers were a fluke. The feel is the big thing with this intake, it's a bit addicting. At the track is where this intake shines, as far as numbers go. For the rest of us daily driving has it's own rewards.

Oh and so no one gets me wrong, CAI, Halltech, Roto-Fab all make excellent quality intakes and the number speak for themselves.

Viral, post away. I look forward to your results. Thanks for taking time to help us all out. Lee, I'm looking forward to your data as well.

Ok so I'm sitting at lunch after having just performed some data logging. I'll need to get home tonight to dump to the datalogger and export as a csv, but I can tell you from watching the live recording that fuel trims were basically dead on! Frankly, I'm shocked by the results!

A few more details - the car has had about 75 miles if learning time, it's fairly warm and humid here today (83ish), which is about 10 degrees warmer than the previous log. And the dyno showed the VR pushed my car fairly rich (~11.5). Ltft at steady cruise were around .78

That is truely amazing. What do you have beside the VMax VR and catback?

That's it. In fact, that's more than I have

I have the Vararam intake and VMAX ported TB (that was just added on Friday). And already had a JBA axleback exhaust (not a full catback, just a muffle swap really). For most of that log, the FTs were between .78 and -.78 I saw a handful of 1.3x numbers pop up, but this is even closer to 0 than my stock tune/intake/tb was (+3 if memory serves). But maybe the temps outside are responsible for that. Anyway, I'll dump this data to csv tonight and add it to my thread so you can compare it to my stock file.

Just order my VR today!!! Should be here Wednesday. I was really debating over the VR vs. the CAI but with the gauarantee they offer (that noone else does) how could I resist?! I've been in the auto industry along time and there's only 2 kinds of companies that offer a promise like that... Those who sell the best parts and those who are multi billion dollar companies who can afford to give a few away... I don't see VR being as big as autozone so I'm obligated to believe their shit is THE shit. I'll let y'all know what I think.... On a side note I'll be selling an AFE for 125$ hahaha

Hmmm.....have to keep an eye on this one. Not sure it's going to be worth switching out my Halltech/ADM scoop for the VR.

Not only that but it sounds like you are saying that VR has changed again (I haven't been staying up with this thread). If that's the case what's to say they aren't going to change it again. I would be a little ticked if I spent the money to switch out to a VR to find out a few months later they've made more changes to it.

I'd have to decide if it's worth spending the money on switching out to a VR or get an UD pulley or save towards gears.

Intrested in hearing more results, especially from Indeed since he has first hand experience with multiple intakes.

They haven't changed anything. It's the same no-tune like my first one.

It's hard to say whether it would be worth switching. If you could try one before buying, then you would know pretty quick.

Oh and I've come to terms with the fact that with the combo of high flow cats, VMax TB and almost any cai, in order to enjoy FT's like I was used to in the past, a tune is going to be required. You can't stack up too many no-tune things and not tune.
