I ordered one, then a week later, the dealer called me and said "Remember the red one on the lot that was sold? The buyer's financing fell through, it's yours if you want it..." It had hockey stripes, which I had them take off, and no ground effects, but other than that, it's the same as what I was ordering, and I LOVE it!!!!

I really wanted the ABM. It had just been discontinued. I probably could have searchfor one but Iwanted the RS package and the convenience and connectivity. If they bring back ABM I would trade in my car.

The sublime Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet just happened to have on her lot exactly what I wanted - a black/black 2SS/RS. So nope, no settling was required.

I wanted all black interior, got the grey/black instead. I regret that. I wanted a sunroof but none were available when I was ready to purchase. I don't regret that as much.

2 years before the Camaro actually came back I had gotten a glimpse of it on an email I got from autobytel showing the concept, I said I WILL own one of those if they ever come out. I was at Epcot at disney in May 2009 they had an ABM v6 on display, I knew I would own an ABM but I was going to get the 2SS/RS with 20" wheels. I went on memorial day to my dealer, put in my order for the very same with the m6 and that is what I got almost two months later.

I got exactly what I wanted within my reasonable monthly payment range. Of course given unlimited budget, upgrades would have happened.

I remember when I first saw the camaro, I had to have it so the next morning I got up and looked at one it was a LS, I looked at nothing else now I wish I would have gotten at least a 1LT with C&C package and a stick instead of auto. But hey I still love this car to death!!!!!!

I went to the dealership and test drove a 2010 White 2LT/RS, then while working out a deal with the sales guy, someone else finalized a deal w/ another salesperson and took it home. :( needless to say, I was disappointed. When I was walking out of the building, back to my car, a delivery truck pulled in with a fresh shipment of 2011's. I saw the sun beaming down on an IOM and became interested really quick, waited for the vehicles to be unloaded and prepped, then brought home an IOM LS!

I really wanted a convertible, but my old car was dying and needed replacing so I got a sunroof instead. No regrets, really - if I had waited my color would have been discontinued before I could get my vert.

And considering how much snow we've had the last couple winters (I don't have a garage), having a solid metal roof gives me some more peace of mind.

I ordered a new vert back in Jan 11, pretty much fully loaded including the gfx and the 21" wheels. came to a bit north of $50K.
The car was built on 3-22, left the plant on 3-24 and just sat there in a lot in Oshawa for weeks without moving at all or any idea from anybody why.
A month later I got tired of waiting with no clue as to when it would arrive. Did an internet search, had Becky do a search as well, and we found a similar vert in the showroom of a local dealer.
It didn't have all the options I had ordered, but it was a vert, it was the right color, the right engine/trans. Everything it didn't have (like the gfx and the 21" wheels) were dealwer installed options anyway.
By this time I had decided I didn't want the 21" wheels nor the gfx, so I bought the vert from the dealer, put the top down and drove home with a smile on my face.
I ended up saving around $7,000 by not getting the 21"'s and the gfx.
I did have Becky install the options that were missing (plus a few others) And now have a car made the way I want.
BTW the original car I ordered was deliverd about 2 weeks after I pulled the pin.

Asked for an IOM + Blk Stripes w/ IOM 2SS RS and a sunroof..

Got IOM + Blk Stripes w/ IOM 2SS RS w/o a sunroof, but with polished wheels instead.

Didn't really settle.. Just accepted that I took shinier wheels over a sunroof..
