Wanted black with orange upgraded int. settled on Vic. red black int. but 2ss/rs with roof was a deal breaker, had to have that, besides my 2 year old son loves the Cars movie, says daddy's car is lightning mcqueen! That is worth the "settle" for the color!

Well my dad didnt order his. He found a nice SS for a good price. Wasnt his first color choice but after alittle decision, it was decided that we should go for it. First choice was IOM, then RJT/ABM then Blk or CGM.

I didn't settle, but I had some choices to make.

The absolutes were: Had to be a 2011, 2SS, and manual trans.

I was torn between black and white. ABM had already been ruled out (first choice) because GM discontinued it for 2011. I love both black and white, but ultimately decided white would be more conducive to my OCD about dings, scratches, etc.

I also had to make a choice re: sunroof. I wanted one. The dealership had both cars (sunroof/non-sunroof) available, and I just couldn't make the sunroof car work. I sat there and adjusted the seat as much as I could, trying different angles and positions, and there just wasn't enough headroom. So, I went with the no-sunroof car. It wasn't really an issue of money or availability; I just couldn't make it work for me. On the flip side, I like the no-sunroof roof lines better. I guess that's my consolation prize for not being able to see out the roof

I wanted a SGM with rally stripes so I had to settle for an LS. But once I made a few mods no regrets. The LS is a great value.

Haven't ordered mine yet but you can add me to the list that wishes ABM was still available. Probably gonna go with black.

Got EXACTLY what I wanted..

Had to be a 1SS
Had to be White
Had to have Black Stripes
Had to Have the RS Package
Had to be a Manual
Had to have the Boston Acoustic Sound System.

They managed to find one less than 65 miles away from my home on a car carrier.

Nope. I wanted barebones manual sporty car with good gas mileage, stunning body lines, and that would accept my tall frame. The Camaro did that and more for me, and added my favorite color (green) into the mix in such an awesome way as well.

I didn't want more options, because I figured why should I pay for something I would replace with something else later?

Love my car, and I am loving the process of making it more unique through mods.

I believe I will upgrade later on but right now, I feel I made the best choice.

Interesting thread. I would have loved to get a IBM 1SS/RS with m6, the Boston stereo and then have the gauge cluster added. I like the features of the 2SS or 2LT's (Connectivity, BA sound) but absolutely did not want leather interior so I was limited to 1SS or 1 LT. The manual 6 speed and IBM were a must. Since it is my daily driver and I was stepping out of a Silverado 4x4 that got 15 mpg average I made the wise choice for me and got the 1LT/RS m6, BA sound, IBM. I am going to add the gauge cluster still (only had the car two months). I don't consider the 6 vs 8 a settle, but rather a smart choice for me. So far I am saving an average of $50 to $70 per week on gas versus my old truck. I am extremely happy.
