Gear ratio 3:45's? 3:73's? 4:10's?
No idea what this means.. yes I know "haha at the retard"
What makes 4:10 better than 3:45? (sorry to hijack thread if I am)

4:10 is closer to quitting time than 3:45

the simple explanation:
the lower gear ratios (4.10 & 3.73) are better for acceleration.
the higher gear ratios (3.45 & 3.27) are better for top speed & economy.

what the numbers mean:
if you have a 3.73 differential, the drive shaft has to turn 3.73 times to turn the axle
once. the proper way to write it is 3.73:1, but it's assumed that you mean ':1' so we leave it off

we'll see. if she can go 11s on 4.10s without FI, 4.33s and 10psi should do wonders

Yeah it wasn't like I was getting full use of them though. I never spun, but I also never launched it as hard as I could have. I had like 2.1 60 ft times, so if I was taking full advantage of them I would have better 60 ft times.

The manual will not be slower than the auto .... you can count on that .. if the manual doesn't trap 111 - 112 in the 1/4 .. I'll be VERY disappointed ..

The auto was said to get 4.6 with launch control to 60, the LS3... now dont kill yourselves yet, let me explain first, was said to get 4.9. Now i was told this by one of GMs own employee who played a major role in testing the pre-pros. He first said that the L99 with LC achieved a 4.6, he then said the LS3 got 4.9 but he was shocked, he said that he had gotten better, and he really doubts the 4.9, he claimed that he thinks that was achieved without LC. He knew everything, he knew that the v6 gets better the 6.1, he boldy told the crowd that you would get mid to high 5 seconds. He explained that he doesnt know exactly why it was released as 6.1, but he explained how it was better and that was a good story! SO anyways him telling me that the LS3 was far better then 4.9 with his background was good enough confirmation. With a good driver, the LS3 should be right with the auto, maybe a bit better, maybe a bit worse, youll just have to see for yourself

Only in 2009 could anyone be disappointed with a factory trim car trapping only 111-112mph in the quarter.

one thing i will say... the auto does not have launch control. that's only a feature with the manual.

the issue ain't about how much power difference there is between the engines; it's about the transmissions. that 6L80 is a heck of a stock performer... not to say the TR6060 ain't, but i think it'll be more of a drivers' race in the end.

for drags, i think the auto will win out in the camaro, but in road courses, the stick will be the better one
+1
