GFX - worth $2500?

So I'm in the process of trading my 210 1LT/RS for a 2011 2SS/RS.

When/If I go through with this I'm seriously considering getting GFX ordered and put on for the price of $2500.

I was just curious what some of your thoughts were on the GFX and if it's worth $2500 (includes painted). I obviously love how it looks (the ones I've seen in person), but $2500 is still relatively expensive.

Everyone has different opinions on if it's worth it or if you can/can't afford it (which I can), but just want to hear some others who DO have GFX, others who would LIKE to have GFX, and others who couldn't care less.

Thanks in advance!

If you like it, get it! I personally don't care for it but plenty do. Painted it looks a lot better, even to me.

Also, hats off on being a Purdue guy, that's an awesome engineering (among other things, of course) school. Didn't Neil Armstrong go there?

I love mine GFX. Some people say they make the car look "heavy". I like extra width it gives the rear. I have a lot less rock chips on the hips compared to my buddies who doesn't have the GFX.

Not worth it. Adds weight, does nothing. You can't take it off and resell it if you decide to sell the Camaro. It is $2,500 down the drain. You will not get one more penny for your car if you add it to your car. But if you have the money to burn and you like the look then go for it.

NO. You can get much better looking ground effects kits for a lot cheaper.

Lets be realistic - you see two camaros, exactly the same, but one has GFX and one doesn't and you're saying they would both be the same price

No way

Do you, or anyone, think it's realistic to bargain for a price lower than $2500 just like you do when buying a car or is that price not really marked up from a dealer's perspective?

I haven't discussed it yet about maybe dropping the price for the GFX by a couple hundered bucks and if they would consider it.

This. I think $2500 is just a bit too much. If it was $2k painted and installed, it might be a different story.

To you yes the body kit adds value, to the dealership and most people shopping for a car, no it adds little to no value. Why do you think most people try to private sell modded vehicles?

We disagree, your car might be slightly easier to sell. But when someone buys a modded car they don't want to pay for the mods. That is one of the first rules of modding. You might get $.20 on the $1 if you are lucky. It is a lesson learned the hard way.

All that being said, I do like the look. Especially on a black Camaro.

Get them from someone else. GM is going to charge premium cost, I'm sure you could get the same GM GFX from an outside retailer for less.

If you like them and can afford them, then it's worth it. I have them and love the way they look.
