V6 being the best ... well ... maybe ... but V8' sound is just priceless! Such as the "mine is bigger than yours"!

Go here, and set the video to about 0:57 seconds. Then play, and turn the volume up. ooooh yeah - lovin' that sound.

Now...what if I told you that was the V6? Or at least I'm 99% sure it is?

Do the rims and wheel-well gap look familiar?

Pretty awesome, huh?

Yep! I agree that's sweeeeet, however ... if the V6 sounds like that ... imagine the V8' sound ... it's gonna be wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild!

And I still want to be able to say "whatever the price and specs ... mine is bigger than yours dude ..." héhé ...

People usually say that guys with big cars have small **beeeep** ... well ... you will never now about my male organe ... but you can see how powerful is my car!

Yes, I behave like a 8 years old kid, but I LOVE THAT!

I ordered a V6 2LT model with the RS package. I would be what would be referred to as a diehard, as at one time in my life I owned nothing but V8 Chevy's. Sure, I 'd like the V8 SS model Camaro but, the extra $$$ and poorer gas mileage along with higher insurance rates made the V6 a much more economical alternative. I traded an '07 Cobalt SS, a 98 S10, 95 Beretta and an 11,000 mile 89 Z24 convertible in for the new Camaro. I can tell you that owning that little Z24 for twenty years changed my mind about V6 engines. That little car had zip and got good mileage. For me, the new camaro with a V6 makes sense, it looks great, will be powerful enough for me and be decent on gas. Besides, whenever I need the "kick" from a V8, I have a 68 Nova SS, two 69 Impalas, a 67 Impala, 68 Impala, 86 El Camino and 79 Malibu with factory 4-speed that have V8's in them. But....if I did not have those older cars with their V8's, I would more strongly consider the V8 Camaro.

At my local Costco, premium was a whopping $0.19 more per gallon. That's a whole $3.61 more per tank!! GASP!!!

I think people are not considering the spread between regular and premium prices, when one goes up the other does to, the the spread should remain about the same.

You are lucky, most places around here premimum is .25 to .30 cents more a gallon... and it was even worse when gas was $4.00+ a gallon, NOBODY even had premimum.. what if that happens again???

The recommmended fuel is premium. That doesn't mean the car can't be run (safely) on mid-grade. The car will still run fine, but just not at 100%, because the engine is tuned for premium fuel.

I have said and will continue to say the the V6 Camaro is one of the most incredible values to come out of Detroit in decades. Getting 304hp with 27mpg is damn-near miraculous.

Are you referring to the V6?

If so, it was actually designed to run on regular and make all 304 hp perfectly. The engineers also say there is no benefit to running premium on this engine (when stock).

Both my Sky and HHR with the 2.4 in them are recommended for premimum, but it says you can run regular with a decrease in Horsepower.. it was estimated you lose about 5 HP using regular...
and I have used regular in both unless I am going on a trip, You get better mileage with premimum also... So you could be correct the SS might be able to use regular with a slight reduction in HP, but with over 400 there you may not even notice the difference..

I agree 100%.
Gotta love this technology, I also orderd a 2LT/RS package, Sure The SS badge and v8 would be nice and that is what I originally wanted till I looked at the above reasons. Cheaper and plenty of power. This will be my daily driver and I do not plan on raceing, so with the catback exhaust and air intake should boost it up to (just a guess, or wishful thinking) to around 320HP.
That is plenty for me.
I agree this model is the best bank for the buck.

The difference between them varies. Here in the greater D.C. area premium is 40-45 cents a gallon more. If you're going to use it as an everyday driver the costs could add up. I drive 65 miles round trip every day. Add the higher cost/payment for the V8 and extra insurance and it could be a deal breaker.
